Here’s Why.?
Contrary to popular belief, rejections are a GOOD thing.
You WANT more of them.
Let me explain.?
If you’re not getting any rejections, it means one or more of the following things…?
Which are not good for your career.?
? You’re not getting enough visibility, so people are not having the chance to reject you, and it means you’re not really getting out there or putting yourself in the situations where people CAN reject you, and this means that a lot of people have no idea who you are or that you exist or what skills you have.?
? You’re not truly being yourself (even though you may Think you are)?
You are too vanilla, too agreeable, too people-please, and it’s not magnetizing or powerfully making any memorable imprints on anyone because, at the same time, you’re not repelling anyone.?
? You’re not marketing yourself enough, you’re not having enough conversations or telling enough people what you do and the return on investment that you can bring them.
Many people will see rejections when they start getting interviews.
They see this as a sign that something is wrong, that they are doing something wrong, they panic and sometimes they STOP wanting to go on interviews!?
BIG MISTAKE to think about it this way.?
Not everyone will want to hire you and this doesn’t mean what you think it means.?
Remember that you are not pursuing the career you’re pursuing to be popular.
You’re doing it so you can provide results for people you truly want to provide results for.?
And anyone who is rejecting you isn’t someone you want to provide results for right now. They arent’ in a place to appreciate it.?
If you still think you do want to work for people who reject you, ask yourself why?
And keep asking why?
Because truly we don’t want that and we shouldn’t waste our want on someone who isn’t all in and serious about hiring you.?
? You’re not interacting with enough NEW people regularly!?
If you have been in contact with the same 5 people in your network for the past year and you keep checking in with them, but nothing new is happening…? (IF you’re getting new interviews and job offers from knowing those 5 people, great)?
But likelihood is? You need to talk to MORE NEW people.?
You want to be interacting with MORE new people all the time.?
And for every 10 new people you talk to, maybe 3 or 4 of them will be your people.
(Not an exact calculation but on average) you gain some you lose some.
But the ones you gain are MUCH more valuable and WORTH the ones that don’t help.?
To get multiple congruent YES’s.
You also need to get Multiple congruent No’s.?
If you’re visible enough, if you’re sharing what you do powerfully enough, and you’re sharing it with new people all the time, then you SHOULD be seeing a number of rejections all the time, AND in those rejections you will be seeing YES’S that include offers and future opportunites as well.?
Rejection is the BEST path forward to make your bank account go up.?
So if you’re getting rejected, Congratulations.
Because those who aren’t getting ANY rejections, aren’t getting The offers they want either.?

5 个月Thanks for the perspective Natalie. ?? The one you wrote about your daughter the other day is very relatable too. Your articles are applicable in different areas of our lives. My persepctive is very similar. For me it was not always that way. It came after watching "Rejection Theory" TED talk, reading books like "Go for No", and possibly a Darren Hardy quote that I am rephrasing from memory (difference between a successful person and an unsuccessful person is the way (s)he deals with rejection / the gap between rejection and when (s)he is back up again) etc.
