If You Want Inspiration, You Have To Stop Working Once In A While!

Maybe if you sit at your desk for another couple hours, you'll eventually have that breakthrough idea you need, right? Not necessarily. If you really want to be inspired, you need to step away from the desk.
While we were writing [Master of None], we would work until 6 or 7 p.m., and then we'd be done. There are other cubicles where people spend nights in the office. I can't imagine you're doing your best work then. You've got to be a person and do other stuff, or you're not going to be inspired to write.
While you have to buckle down and get started at some point, if you're never taking a break and doing something you enjoy, you're going to get stuck. Ideas don't just come from sitting at a desk and ordering them to materialize. If you've spent too much time working, go home, enjoy your hobbies or relaxation for a bit, and come back to it later.
