You want to grow? STOP treating your business like ?? ??????

Many of you (us?) dive headfirst into starting a business with dreams of freedom, success, and financial independence dancing in their minds. Great. That's awesome. I was one of those people. But ....too often, some of you end up treating their business like a glorified job. And that can spell TROUBLE.

The "employee mindset" trap

When you're an employee at a company, you have a role. And it's pretty straightforward. You show up, you do your tasks, and you clock out at the end of the day. Rinse and repeat....

Your job isn't about bringing in more business or making sales(unless that's your taks as an employee) on top of handling everything else... it's about executing the tasks you're given.

Now, here's where the trouble starts for some budding entrepreneurs. They carry over this same approach when they start their own business.

They clock in at 9 a.m., clock out at 5 p.m., and spend the rest of the day counting down the minutes until they can punch out. Sound familiar?

They set up shop, create a website, or open a profile on social media, and then... they wait. ??♂???♂?They sit back, expecting the customers to come flocking to them like moths to a flame.

(Spoiler alert: they won't.)

Let me spell it out for you - Waiting. Around. Won't. Cut. It

Your business isn't some soul-sucking, paycheck-collecting gig. It's your baby. Your passion. Your ticket to financial freedom and independence. So why are you treating it like a prison sentence?

(Seriously, do you even want to succeed?)

You need to take ownership of your business in every sense of the word.

Translation: It means being willing to put in the blood, sweat, and tears necessary to make it succeed.

It means being proactive, creative, and relentless when searching for growth and success.

Stop waiting for someone else to tell you what to do. Stop clock-watching and coasting through the day.

BONUS: Referrals are NOT your savior

Sure, you might get some business from referrals or foot traffic. Sure, referrals are like little golden nuggets of business goodness. They're warm leads handed to you on a silver platter??, and who doesn't love that?

BUT....You can't pin the fate of your business on the kindness of others.

So, what's the solution? Simple: you've got to get proactive. You need to have a solid lead generation strategy in place—one that you're constantly feeding and nurturing like a proud plant parent.

Your business should always be on the offensive, constantly seeking out new opportunities for growth.

You need to be proactive.... aggressive even.... in pursuing new opportunities and expanding your customer base.

Because here's the thing: if you're not actively bringing in new business, you're essentially standing still. And in 2024 standing still is basically the same as moving backward. ??

Don't drop your guard

In entrepreneurship, complacency IS the enemy. It's like taking your eyes off the road while driving—you're just asking for trouble.

By treating your business like a job and passively waiting for customers to come to you, you're putting everything you've worked for at risk. (And believe me, that's not a gamble you want to take.)

You WON'T GROW!

So, here's my advice: don't drop your guard. Stay on the offensive, constantly seeking out new opportunities for growth. Because in the game of business, it's not the strongest or the smartest who survive....it's the ones who are willing to put in the work.
