#13.? Build Resilience - Be Happy, Be Grateful
?I’m constantly striving for me to improve, for Clarity to improve and for us to offer an even better experience for our clients and my colleagues alike.??? There is always more to be done and this mindset although I believe is commendable could lead to a level being somewhat dissatisfied.? I love endurance sports and that has undoubtedly help me build some sort of a resilience muscle which you need in running a business.? However, in my opinion, even more important is to be happy and grateful for the simple things I have and which I can experience everyday.? I love an early morning walk with my spaniel, a hard muddy bike ride with my mates, a bracing dip in the river, a laugh and joke with family, friends and colleagues, a glass of wine or beer or both, watching the sunrise,– the list is endless.?? I’m happy and I’m very grateful for what I have and for what I can experience.? This daily appreciation equips me for the challenges of running your own business and to offset the knowledge that we’ve still got loads to do to improve.

?#14.? Help!
I need help.? I need people to challenge my thinking, bounce ideas off and to hold me accountable.? This can come from my coach, colleagues in our team, clients, friends and we have a Clarity Advisory Board.?? Frankly, I need as much help as possible and I’m happy to soak up as much of it as possible.?? In addition to seeking help I look to offer help.? I’m regularly asked about my journey to being a coach and running a business and I will always take the time to support people in their journey and offer any guidance I can.? Lots of people have helped me and I’d like to repay that in helping others if I can.

?#15.? Love your colleagues
I started these 15 thoughts with ‘Love your Customers’.? And full circle and equally important is to love your colleagues.? My colleagues are amazing.? We have a World & Olympic Champions, Psychologists, ex Vice Presidents from Corporate world.? This variety provides us with an unrivalled breadth and depth of experience.?? The brilliant Rob Taylor has been with Clarity from day 1, the amazing Lorraine Buckle has been the backbone of Clarity for 12 of our 15 years. ?I’m not going to list every colleague, but for each and everyone of ?them in their unique brilliant way make Clarity Leadership who we are.? We have a team ethos based on 4 simple principles – Fairness, Transparency, Collaboration and Fun. ?Like any business – I want to attract and develop the best people.? My desire is that Clarity offers an amazing experience for all my colleagues where they can release their full potential.? ??
You should write a book Phil Rose. I am sure many would love to read your pearls of wisdom, with a touch of humour in them.
