Are you virtually successful?
Just five weeks before we were due to hold our annual spring conference simplyIC the UK went into lockdown, and so did our plans for an event for 300 people.
In those 5 weeks we pivoted to virtual and turned a two-day physical event into a 4 hour virtual one. Clearly we missed the opportunity to meet our members face to face, but there were upsides: our audience doubled and our content was energised by dramatic stories of how IC professionals stepped up to the mark during the onset of the pandemic.
By November we had time to plan and we produced our first hybrid event: the simply summit was anchored in a TV studio with remote contributions from around the world.
With Lockdown 2 in operation around Europe and North America you are probably looking at how you will communicate your all-staff events this spring. Townhalls, roadshows, management conferences are all going to be re-invented through the digital lens and the WFH laptop. With Covid-19 restrictions, it’s the only viable route to connecting with employees.
We've put together a guide to help you produce your own, internal event. We have taken a look at some of the most popular platforms out there and assessed what we think are their strengths and drawbacks.
We are not theorists – we’ve got practical experience of delivering digital live events to large audiences. So if you need any help, please get in touch and draw on our own learnings and experiences. And if you want a copy of our simply guide to virtual events just ask below.

4 年Hey - This looks impressive! Would love to see your guide. We had exactly the same scenario at Vistaprint in June. We received a fair amount of feedback around a 4-hour virtual event still feeling a bit too long. What feedback and learnings did you take from this longer event?
