Are You a Talker or a Doer?
“The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing.” ????

Sometimes the most obvious of concepts completely evades us.? It’s almost as though something inside of us is attempting to impede our ability to succeed.? As strange as it may seem, that’s exactly what’s happening.
For whatever reason, the idea of starting a particular project may be frightening, overwhelming, too time consuming, or possibly you’re rebelling against the authority that assigned you the project.? So, what do we do rather than beginning the project?

We convince ourselves there’s not sufficient time to start the project and instead we start something else.? We assume we won’t be able to immediately obtain the information needed to complete the project, so we start something else.? We figure we’ll get to it a little while, so we start something else.? We appear to be quite easily capable of rationalizing the project away for the time being.
Believe me, I hate admitting this, but I’m just as guilty as you.? What I suggest is that you admit to yourself that you are avoiding what you have to do.? Bite the bullet and voraciously attack the project.? Finish the project and congratulate yourself for your ambition and ability to do a good job.? Reward yourself for your spectacular skillfulness in overcoming the self-created obstacles posed in front of you.? You did it, you didn’t just talk about it, you actually did it.? Hooray for you!????
