When you are working in a high-stress profession, it’s important to make sure that you are taking the time your body needs to rest.?
Are you the type of person who works all the time and never takes the time to rest??
Do you think that taking this time to rest means you are being lazy??
When you are working hard, you need to make sure you are resting.? There may be times when you simply don’t want to do something, but is calling times like this being lazy adding any benefit to your life??
Where you’ll see the benefit is when you are able to take care of yourself by resting even when you are working hard.?
?
Since they have high-stress professions, many of the clients I work with are concerned with being called lazy or seen as lazy people. They often don’t take the time they need to rest their bodies when they should. Being lazy is defined as being unwilling to work or use energy.
So, how do you know if you are lazy or simply resting? One of the best ways I help my clients with this question is to look at the results they are producing in their lives.
?
Just because you may be thinking that you don’t want to do something doesn’t make you lazy.? This is normal.?
There are so many tasks in our lives that most of us don’t want to do, but the majority of us continue to do this work anyway.?
For example, I don’t know if anyone truly enjoys taking their garbage out.? Have you ever found yourself thinking something like, I just don’t want to take this garbage out today?? This thought alone does not make you lazy.?
Even when you don’t feel like taking the garbage out, this feeling doesn’t make you lazy.?
It’s pretty normal for you to feel this way.? And I’m guessing that even when you think you don’t want to take the garbage out, and you don’t feel like taking the garbage out, you still take the garbage out, don’t you??
This is how we can look at the results and know that you are not being lazy because you took the garbage out.? And, if when you finish taking the garbage out, you relax, this would be considered rest and not laziness.?
Laziness would be resting before you’ve produced any results.? It’s actually a form of procrastinating.

I can only speak for myself but I feel it’s because I pushed myself to become a CPA and didn’t allow for a break, mentally. Yes I watched movies and tv but I always dwelled on breaking into the profession. I’m leaning a critical difference (in practice, every day terms) between giving myself grace and becoming complacent.
