Personal branding is becoming increasingly important in today's digital age, especially on platforms like LinkedIn.
While many people may associate personal branding with big personalities like Grant Cardone and Gary Vee, building a strong personal brand is important for everyone, not just those with large followings.
Although I am not an authority on personal branding, I have observed a subtle change on LinkedIn in recent years that has highlighted the significance of maintaining your personal brand.
Here are some pointers that I've considered in my own personal branding journey:
Be Authentic
The key to building a strong personal brand is authenticity. It's important to stay true to yourself at all times and share both the good and the bad. People appreciate transparency and honesty, and it can help to build a deeper connection with your audience.
Establish Authority
Discuss the topics you are strongest on and avoid those you know little about. Let your audience appreciate your level of expertise. By doing so, you can establish yourself as an authority in your field and build credibility.
Personality
Let your personality shine through in your content. Whether you're humorous, analytical, or creative, find ways to showcase your unique traits. This can help you stand out from the crowd and make a deeper connection with your audience.

Be Visible
To build a strong personal brand, you need to be visible. Show up consistently and speak up. This can mean creating content in various forms such as video, podcasts, blogs, and imagery posts. Consistency is key as it helps to stay top of mind with your audience.
Relationships
Building genuine relationships with people you can learn from and collaborate with is essential for personal branding. Connect with others in your industry, participate in discussions, and engage with their content. This can help you expand your network, gain new insights, and collaborate on future projects.
Good personal branding is usually a mix of different content types, but it all revolves around the individual being seen.
Those who are good at personal branding are those who refuse to 'fake-it-till-you-make-it' and instead, take you on their journey of development and growth.
By following these pointers, you can start building a strong personal brand that authentically represents who you are and what you have to offer.
