Do you ever feel like you just don’t have the time to sit down and analyze and understand the key metrics and numbers going on in your business?
I do this every day of the week.
So many business owners and entrepreneurs are so focused on their growth targets, they’re so focused on keeping their businesses alive through this pandemic, that they just don’t have the time to collate and analyze and understand what’s going on. And they don’t understand what questions they should be asking of themselves or what they’re looking for.
It’s really, really important that you surround yourself with a team of people who understand this.
I know in my sphere I call it my support team in business. I’ve got my marketing guy who we constantly talk to, about marketing metrics and the marketing success of what we’re doing. What’s working, what’s not, what’s the cost per lead, what’s our cost per sale, what’s the engagement numbers? We’re talking about that so I go to him for conversation and expertise when it comes to that part of my business.
Also, I chat with my accountant regularly and we will talk to tax effective structures, we will talk to what’s the best way to structure something so that we can ensure that it’s set up in the most tax-effective way. If we’re partnering on something with somebody, if we are setting up a new program or product, should we do that in this company, in that company, what’s the best way to do that? Because he’s doing that every day of the week. And he’s also my go-to for an understanding of government policy changes, stimulus and the like because again, he’s dealing with that every single day and I trust his advice.
So the question is, who’s on your team? Who’s giving you the information, who’s helping you interpret it and make your decisions, who’s the person where you can pick up the phone and ask a quick question and not feel like you’re going to get charged?
Because if you don’t have that in business these days, you’re going to struggle, and you’re doing it the hard way. You don’t need to do it the hard way. We’ve never had so much support and help in business.
I’ve been in business for over 15 years and I remember, coaches and mentors and the like, when I first started a business, were not the norm. But now you are spoiled by choice.
So who’s on your team? Who’s giving you the advice? Who’s the go-to person where you can make the call, discuss something, and understand the impact of your decisions. Who’s the person that can quickly interpret what you want to do and whats the financial impact, the emotional impact, the general business impact of what you’re trying to achieve. The person to help you get perspective, help push you, or ask you the right questions?
If you need that person in your life, please feel free to reach out, we’re happy to help. But you need to make sure you’ve got those people in your life, if you don’t, you’re making business harder than it needs to be.
