Are You Stuck In The Baby Pool?

Watching a successful young millionaire who was being interviewed as he was opening his brand-new store in the diamond district of New York City, I was happy for his success.

He had worked tirelessly for ten years and dreamed of having his own store and he finally made it happen.

One of his employees mentioned that he had just returned from South Africa and how happy he was to be back in time for the store opening.

It was then like a bolt of lightning that my brain said “I want that!? I want to travel and do cool things!”

I instantly compared my life to theirs (a big NO NO!) and deemed my experience as being very mundane and dare I say boring.

Yes, I love my clients, but I hadn’t travelled in a long time and professionally speaking, there was a lot more I wanted to experience that I hadn’t yet attempted.

The question was “Why?”

Why was I not experiencing my life that way I truly wanted to live it?

I know this is very common and for most people they are content with their life but being content and happy are two different things.

You may just be waking up to the fact that your world is small.

Much smaller than you would like.

You think you are accomplishing great things.? In reality, they are probably good things but not earth-changing moments.

You believe you are satisfied and “pretty happy” but when we really think about what our personal happiness looks like, is that a true statement?

I believe it leaves lots of room for growth and that’s a good thing.

If you feel that all you do is work, eat, sleep and repeat, you are not the only one.

Life is not like it is on tv, but you may be understanding that you have kept yourself in the baby pool and it’s now time to get out and get into the adult swimming area.

Many of us stay in the baby pool because we are comfortable there.?

No, it’s not that challenging, but we know what we are getting.

True, the baby pool is small but going into the “big pool” could be scary.

We have no idea who will be there!

We don’t know if we will be ok once we are in the water.

Will we be safe?

We don’t have any friends there so it may be “quite risky to take a dip” even if that is where all the good stuff happens.

We need to get comfortable with being uncomfortable.?

If you want a bigger life, you have two choices:

You can sit back down and keep quiet = make no changes.

There is not much growth here, but you will be super safe.

Or…

You can decide this is your one and only life and you are the star of it.? You are putting yourself first and it’s time to venture out.

You understand that you will be uncomfortable, that you will make mistakes and that you may not be successful right out of the gate.

Yet the best part of where you are going is the journey.? That’s the fun part and that is truly where the growth begins.

Life will bring you unexpected teachers, friends and places to go that you may never have thought of before.

Think of it as an amazing journey that you get to take whenever you decide too.

Life is short and you are talented.? Please do not delay any longer in the baby pool because the world needs your energy, opinions, creativity and shine.

Every life you touch, be it human or animal, is affected.?

We are all connected in ways most of us don’t understand.

Life is a true gift, and time is short on this marble.

Use it wisely and for God’s sake, please be honest with yourself.

Let go what no longer serves you.

Let go of people, places, thoughts, jobs, and experiences that do not make you happy and disempower you.

You are a divine sentient being who is a transformative leader.? The greatest gift you can give yourself is to be true to who you are and what you want.

It’s time to cut loose and live it up!
