“Remember that stress doesn't come from what's going on in your life. ?It comes from your thoughts about what's going on in your life.”
TOP TAKE HOME TIP: Our subconscious mind controls every thought and feeling that we have.?It dictates everything that we do… which is already decided long before the conscious mind is even aware of it! ?So you need to make sure your programming is working for you rather than against you.

Are You Stressed Out and Just Surviving or Thriving?
This week’s topic is so important but something that many people struggle to admit to themselves… let alone talk about because of the stigma associated with it!?Yet stress is something that we all experience on a daily basis.?In fact we need a little bit to give us the edge, so that we are motivated to take action and perform well.?I should add that feeling bored and unfulfilled can be as bad as having too much on your plate!?We all need to have a purpose in life and have a reason to get up each day.?Something to be striving to achieve.?If only more people realised that it isn’t weak to admit you are stressed and need some help.?It is actually a sign of great intelligence and strength, and a sound investment in your mind, body and business.???
Are you an ambitious, driven Business Owner, Corporate Leader or High Achiever with too much on your plate??Do you feel stressed out??Are you feeling that you’re just surviving and that there must be more to life??Maybe you feel like a hamster on a wheel, desperate to get off and have a break??As an ambitious driven Leader and High Achiever you know more than most that it is a constant challenge managing your time efficiently, so that you can work smarter rather than harder and be as effective and productive as you can possibly be.?We all only have 24 hours in a day…even though we often feel we need more!?So finding ways to get the most out of every minute, so that you can achieve your never-ending list of tasks and goals is essential.???
According to The World Health Organisation (WHO):
“Stress is the Number One illness and disease of the 21st Century.”
Stress is the barrier between what we are and what we can be.?It damages your mind, body and business, often without you even realising it!?So how do you know if your stress levels are getting out of hand and putting your health at risk, when as an ambitious, driven High Achiever you are able to handle so much??It’s a tricky one, as the symptoms can often be subtle to begin with but gradually get worse over time.?Initially you may find yourself having the odd glass of wine of an evening to help you unwind and get off to sleep after a long day at work.?But then realise after a while that you want it every night and by that time one glass has progressed to more, and you can’t get to sleep without it! ?
Having worked with ambitious, driven Business Owners, Corporate Leaders and High Achievers for many years now, I know that looking after your mind and body is crucial to the success of your business.?But fear not because I can help you recognise the signs.?
Rest assured, no-one especially High Achievers are immune to the effects of stress!?So even if you don’t feel like you are stressed, it is important to be self-aware, so that you can do something about it before it is too late.
All of my ambitious, driven high achieving clients are already successful but they are making some if not all of the following three mistakes to some degree or another:
1.???They feel frustrated, negative and overwhelmed by the enormity of their workload and goals, and are trying to be superhuman to cope.
2.???They rarely relax, exercise, eat or sleep well and often live on a poor diet of coffee, sugar and junk food to get them through the day.
3.???They beat themselves up fearing they are losing control, aren’t good enough and are failing because they aren’t achieving their goals fast enough.
Stress comes in so many forms but I like to narrow it down into 3 core areas: Mind, Diet and Exercise.?Of course there are many layers to each, as well as so many other types of stress like Environmental Toxins and Pollutants, EMF, Pesticides on our food, Parabens in our Toiletries and Beauty Products etc.?The main thing is to focus on what we can control, so as not to add any additional, unneccesary stress to our mind and body, thus increasing the overall load in our stress bucket.??
So what are some of the signs??Well basically, stress is anything that makes you feel tense, irritable, anxious, worried, scared, angry, frustrated or unhappy.?As a general rule, any event that significantly changes your daily routine is a potential trigger for stress.?I say ‘potential’ because a lot depends on your natural inherited instincts, genetics, personality type, belief system, programming and general attitude towards life and change.?This explains why we all react differently to stress.?At the end of the day, it is our unique perception that is the key, not necessarily the severity of the stress.
When normal every day events that you would usually take in your stride feel like too much of an effort (maybe a ‘disaster/crisis’) and start to get you down, then you are probably suffering from stress.?Stress can be brought about by something relatively routine like the ringing of a telephone, thinking about next month’s quarterly meeting, delivering a sales presentation, hiring and firing staff, work and financial pressures, a visit from a difficult relative, moving house, getting married, getting divorced, to something life threatening such as a car crash, injury, serious illness or bereavement.
Feeling physically tired, mentally drained (known as ‘Burnout’) and constantly suffering from recurring minor illnesses such as headaches, stomach upsets, colds, sore throats, viruses and infections, aches, pains, mouth ulcers etc. are all signs that you are run down and that your immune system is struggling to cope.?Ignore these signs at your peril!?They are just warning signs and can lead to serious illness and disease due to the ‘dis-ease’ in your mind and body.
