Are you still “boosting” posts? Stop!!
Facebook does make it very enticing and attractive to click that little blue button and “reach 2000 more people for only $10.”
Or what about the constant notifications that your “latest post is performing 80% better than others like” and you should boost it to reach even more people.
You may even see an ad-preview to show you what it may look like after you boost it.
Facebook does make it very easy to ‘advertise’ this way though here is why you should stop boosting posts.
When you boost a post, Facebook will show your ad to people who are most likely to comment, share and like the post. That’s it.
It optimizes your ad with an “Engagement” objective and that is exactly what you get.
It’s simple to fall into this trap and then get disheartened when you haven’t generated any real inquiries or sales.
This is why every ad you create, should be made through the Ads Manager.
This allows you to choose the Ad objective that is most relevant to your business needs.
For example, if you’d like people to watch a video you would use “Video Views”. If you’d like them to fill in a form you would use “Lead Generation”.
Creating an Ads Manager account is very simple and the instructions can be found here:

There are currently 11 different marketing objectives that you can use making the Facebook platform very versatile to suit a variety of businesses.
