As you sow, so shall you reap...
This week I'm reading a book called “What to say when you talk to yourself” on “self-talk” and how it can affect a person's life. On reading this, I could recollect a story of mine. I’m sure each of us has some stories like the one I'm sharing here…that you can relate to from your life experiences.
This happened when I was studying in my 8th class. It was a PTE (playtime) period, and I played football first time. My captain asked me to be the goalkeeper. The match started, I failed to defend the ball twice. Then I was nervous and wanted to stop at any cost next time. This time the ball hit on my face. I bled and people took me for first aid care.
On my way, I overheard, people were laughing, dismissing me for the next match onwards for my poor game. I couldn’t handle the feeling correctly at that young age. I started believing their words, and that impression had slowly developed hatred over the sports thereafter.
The author shares a story of his. They dismissed him from the musical band and the instructor said he has no musical ability. On the opposite side, an instructor appreciated a kid who played the piano first time. Later he became a creative trainer by profession.
There is one thing common in all these stories, what you believe becomes your reality. What you hear and what you say to yourself forms your belief system.
So, if we feed-in positive thoughts, and we can win over our dreams. It is up to us what we choose. Let us make our choice wisely!
