Anyone else sick of having coaches slide into their DM's uninvited, trying to sell them stuff?
And unsolicited "coaching" or advice?
What about the fake value stacks & scarcity to create urgency?
And the hypey "bro" marketing?
How about rubbing salt in people's wounds during a sales call to make sure they see "the gap" and how much they need to work with you?
Yeah? Me too
I don't know what it is with the coaching industry that has made all this the norm
But I'm over it
And I strongly desire to see all of the crappy, high-pressure sales techniques come to an end
I've spoken to countless unsuspecting coaches over the years who were manipulated into expensive coaching programs they weren't a good fit for (myself included)
And now either don't want to invest in further coaching because they are scared it happens again
Or they quite simply don't have the money
Both of which leave them in a tricky situation because they cannot access the support they need and deserve in order to grow their business, develop as a human, overcome their fears & trauma, etc.
Look, don't get me wrong...
I'm not against ethical coaches charging a premium for their services and selling.
In fact, I encourage it
And I typically don't like bashing other people either... that's just not cool
I MUCH prefer to lift others up...
...But I can't keep quiet about this anymore because this is adding to people's pain & trauma (and the world has enough hurt, we don't need to add to it)
You DON'T need to use any tricks, tactics, scarcity, or high-pressure sales tactics to make sales - even "high-ticket" ones.
Besides, when you DO use these tactics you're far more likely to have unhappy clients who don't get what they wanted and request refunds.
They will NEVER recommend you or work with you again.
And over time, if you're a human who actually cares about your clients, your confidence will take a knock and you'll find your income going backwards, NOT growing.
Surely it would be better to make sales in a trauma-sensitive, mutually beneficial way?
And to build long-term relationships with your clients where they sign up to everything you offer?

So, how do you sell in a stress-free, no-pressure way that doesn't require manipulation and results in long-term client relationships?
The simplest & easiest way to make no-pressure sales is to show your market that you can help them and how you can help them
By actually helping them
Crazy idea, right?! ??
Again, please don't misunderstand me.

I am NOT suggesting that you work with people for free
(and please don't EVER do free coaching calls because this totally undermines the value of the work you do and will mess up your sales confidence)
(yes, I know that many coaching certifications require that you do x amount of free coaching and I am VERY against this practice)
What I am suggesting is that you make sure you have a clear understanding of:
- what your market desires
- and what's preventing them from achieving those desires
Then to create your marketing around giving your audience insights as to why they aren't able to achieve their desires and what to do about it.
If you can give someone a small win through a post, an email, a video or a workshop you'll build immense goodwill with them and they will be hooked to you and your content
And it will only be a matter of time before they sign up to work with you if you repeatedly blow their minds (apparently it takes up to 30 touch points to make a sale nowadays - 30!! ??)
I must just add it's also important to talk about how your programs/products/services tie into the big picture of how working with you will save them time, money, and energy or improve their status or reputation
And to make offers so they know you have something to sell!!
Just not in a sleazy way ??
