Let's take an example.?
If a person has lots of stress and muscles are weak and flabby, they probably are not sleeping well. But that one person says, Why should I go to the gym or eat healthy if I am not sick?
What would you think??
Most of us live in the same perception. Does it sound like you??
Then you should keep on reading ahead. Let's take an imaginary example here:
The Wake-Up Call
Aarav Kapoor was the quintessential corporate warrior. Thirty-two years old, living in a high-rise apartment in Bangalore, and scaling the career ladder faster than anyone in his circle. His calendar was a battlefield of back-to-back meetings, client calls, and late-night strategy sessions. The only workouts he knew were typing furiously on his laptop and rushing to catch his next flight.
He wore his "busy" badge with pride.?
Sleep? A luxury.?
Breakfast? A quick coffee on the go.
Lunch? Who needs it when you can power through with snacks at your desk??
Aarav often laughed off his friends’ concerns about his lifestyle, brushing them aside with, “I’m fine! I’m not sick or anything.”
But “fine” was a lie. Beneath the surface, Aarav’s body was waging a silent rebellion.
One day, his company announced a mandatory full-body health checkup for all employees. Aarav groaned. “Another waste of time,” he muttered as he signed up for the earliest slot, hoping to get it over with.
When the test results came back, Aarav’s world flipped.
The doctor’s words echoed in his head: “Your cholesterol levels are through the roof. Your liver is showing early signs of fatty liver disease. And you’re prediabetic. If you don’t make drastic changes now, you’re looking at serious health issues within a few years.”
Aarav was stunned. Prediabetic? Fatty liver? But I’m not even 35! His mind raced to rationalize it. I don’t feel sick. I work hard, I’m productive—how could this happen?
That night, Aarav sat alone in his apartment, staring at the report. It felt like a mirror, showing him not just his health but his choices. He thought about the countless skipped meals, sleepless nights, and his body’s quiet cries for help, ignored for years.
SOMETHING HAD TO CHANGE….
Well, first, I would tell you some interesting facts. Research published in the Journal of Public Health indicated that approximately 65.4% of participants aged 40 and above in Germany reported regular use of routine health check-ups. The study also found that psychological factors, such as life satisfaction and optimism, were positively associated with the utilization of these check-ups.
The Flawed Binary of Health
Ask all the questions an individual can ask themselves to determine the current health situation:
A study from the University of East Anglia found that over 25% of seemingly healthy adults aged 60 and above had undiagnosed heart valve disease. This condition can increase the risk of heart attacks and strokes if left untreated. [New York Post]
So you need to fix your daily routine for your health to catch up with your lifestyle. Some of it you can do is to stop smoking, have a BMI less than 30, and do at least 4 hours of physical activity in a week.
You might have seen lots of commercials saying that you need medications for everything. But your body is not defaulting to get sick. For example, ZzzQuil or other sleep aid commercials often depict people tossing and turning, unable to fall asleep, and suggesting that a pill is the solution.
Don’t Wait to Feel Sick to Start Valuing Your Health
Many of us take our health for granted until something goes wrong. We ignore small warning signs—like fatigue, stress, or poor sleep—until they escalate into bigger problems. But why wait for a crisis to act? Your health is your most valuable asset, and the time to invest in it is now.
Imagine waking up every day with energy, joy, and the confidence that comes from knowing you’re taking care of yourself. Start your health journey today—not because you’re sick, but because you deserve to feel truly alive.
That's all for today. I will see you next post.
