How can you appear credible to your target market? This is what it’s all about because that’s what they want. The credibility has to be there because somebody can be likeable and vulnerable, but you’re never going to spend any money with them. You need to know that they know, or they can do, or perform, or provide.?
Credibility is certainty?
The way I look at this in a sales and marketing term is that credibility is certainty and that’s what the subconscious craves. Credibility is very important, and if you were going to only have one thing in business, credibility is the one you must have.?
If you think about Simon Cowell, he was very unlikable actually until he had a child and that kind of made him more humane. He was very credible though – no one questioned his decision. If he said, “no they’re no good”, everybody believed that – his decision was final. So he wasn’t very likeable, but now he’s more likeable, he’s credible AND likeable, and actually, we feel differently about him. Well, I do definitely…I don’t know about you!
So have a think about whether you are showing your credibility, and if you aren’t, how you can start showing it more.
