I honestly don't remember the last time I was sick.
It has been since before 2020 that I can truly say I have been sick.
However, I felt something coming on last night, and I had hoped that sleep would help me get through it.
But alas, it did not.
Not even close.
I have been in bed literally all day, and have slept over 12 hours during that time.
My WHOOP Band told me this morning that my Recovery was 1% (Out of 100%).
My Resting Heart Rate is at 88 bpm (My average is 54 bpm).
My Heart Rate Variability is 21 ms (My average is 58 ms).
My Skin Temperature is +7.9 Degrees Fahrenheit above my baseline, despite feeling cold all day.
My Stress Levels due to being sick have been High for nearly 18 Hours.
As you can Imagine, this is a pretty awful day for me.
Thankfully, I have a wonderful spouse who has gone above and beyond to help me Recover as quickly as possible and have periods where I feel better.
However, there are 2 problems that I have left today.
My Article Streak and My Run Streak.
Now, my Run Streak is something fairly new I've started, with today being only Day 44 of the Streak.
I usually run 3+ miles for my runs, but by the official rules of Run Streaks, I only need to do a minimum of 1 mile.
The bigger problem is my Article Streak, which today will be Day 560, and my Goal is to get to 1,000 Days Straight.

Most people in this kind of situation would question whether they should show up or not.
Will others care?
Probably Not.
Are others paying close attention if you hit "every" day?
Probably Not.
Would anyone blame you for not showing up on a day like this?
Definitely Not!
So, if You choose Not to Show Up at your Worst, the only person who might Care in the long term is yourself.
This is where the Idea of being an Exemplar comes in.
Are you willing to be True to who you say you will be?
For me, I believe being an Exemplar is one of the most important aspects of being a Leader.
You must "Be" who you say you are if you hope to have people Trust you to Lead them.
So, for me, I will show up today.
I will hit at least my Minimums - 250 words for my Article and 1 mile for my run.
They may not be my best efforts, but they allow me to continue to be an Exemplar.
When I am at my Worst, I will show up.
Will You?
