You Should Never Stop Trying. Here’s Why
This is something that I tell my team members at ProofHub, “You should always be open to trying new things.” As Jack Ma quotes, “Once in your life, try something. Work hard at something. Try to change. Nothing bad can happen. '' And so I believe.
But the constant fear of What-if-I-fail? What-if-I-made-a-fool-of-myself? And many more kept Rheya from trying new things. She refuses to try new things always. But one day I declared rewards and praises for anyone who try new things. Rheya hesitantly tried more and more things and realised how much fun it was. She is now happy putting efforts on new things and is growing well.
Are you making the same excuses as Rheya made? What is stopping you to try new things? Here are some excuses that are probably holding you back.
1) I-won’t-be-good-at-it
Fear is one thing that keeps us from trying new things — fear of not being good at it. “I won’t be good at it” is our first thought. But how can you expect yourself to excel at something when you're not even trying? Patience and perseverance are the two things that will lead you to where you want to be.
2) I-just-don’t-have-the-time
When you put an excuse that you’ve got no time, you’re actually saying you’re not making time. You’re just trying to convince others that you’re too busy. Get off the regular routines, manage your time with time management techniques (or time management tool) and jump into a new experience.
Don’t let time stop you to try new things. Manage it with ProofHub.
3) It’s-not-my-thing
How often do you take a step back, assuming that you don’t have the skills for it? But you should realize you’re losing out a lot of opportunities making these assumptions. You can bring things up once you try it but saying it before trying is a way to sabotage yourself.
4) I’ll-try-it-next-time
“Next time” is just an excuse to abandoning an incredible opportunity. When will be next time? This will just save you from the guilt of not trying and not lead you anywhere. So, let this be the time to try.
If you’re the one making these excuses, you should do everything within your power to get out of the ditch and keeping moving. I even have some great reasons you shouldn’t be afraid of trying something new.
- Because it will expose you to a new idea
- Because it will break the routine of life
- Because it will increase your overall satisfaction
- Because you’ll be more productive
- Because you only live once
- Because you’ll discover things you like and don’t like
So stop asking yourself, “Should I be doing this?”, “Will I be able to do this?”, “What am I doing?”, and just give it a try. Work hard for it. And you’ll be there where you want to be!
When was the last time you tried something new? What is that you wish to try since long but you’re too scared to try it out? Let us know in the comments below?

5 年Most people fail because of FEP (Fear, Ego and Pain) and fear is the factor that stop people from trying. Do you want to let your fear and ego to stop you from trying new thing that might change your life? Clearly there's no harm trying new things unless that's something illegal. When you hesitate, just imagine the reward you will get after you conquer your fear and try it.
