If You See Me & I Don't Speak...

If You See Me & I Don't Speak...

Proof that some men still don’t get it! Not to generalize all men because I have many great men in my life.

Today when I got up at 5AM to get ready for a business function, I did what most of you probably did; I went through my email. I was surprised to find a "LinkedIn" notification from a prominent Nashville businessman that I met early in the Mixtroz journey. In fact, after several meetings, he committed to investing in Mixtroz but he never did (FTR: I have no problem with that, that's anybody's right; I suppose even after "committing"). I haven't heard a peep from him in 18-24 months; even the few times I've seen him in person at gatherings, barely a wave or fake "hello". So today when I saw the LinkedIn notice from him, I egotistically thought he was offering some type of congratulations or maybe even an inquiry about our funding (which closed in Oct 2018 after raising $1M from a group of very smart MEN and a WOMAN)...

"his note was simply to correct a grammatical error on one of my LinkedIn posts..."

Alas, I was wrong! His note was simply to correct a grammatical error on one of my LinkedIn posts (Although I have matriculated and somehow earned both a BBA and MBA from an accredited university; dammit I typed "are" instead of "our"!!!) .

So to you grammar hero, please check the grammar on the note that you sent me because after conferring with the English department at the local university, the consensus has been reached that YOU, my friend, should have inserted “have” before your propositional phrase!

So ladies, if you have a detractor in your midst, straighten your crown and keep it moving! And for all of you folks (men and women alike) that publicly wave the banner of support for entrepreneurs of any sex or hue, make sure you have first raised it privately (when nobody is there to applaud your seemingly disingenuous efforts). Follow my journey at @mixtroz on twitter, IG & FB to see what I (actually we; my daughter and I) are achieving when I'm not making grammatical errors!

Very empowering to read your comeback! It’s sad but also unfortunate because when people do things like this, they also diminish their opportunity to broaden their sphere. Well said!
