Are you scared of leaving your job?

Are you scared of leaving your job?

When I was working in my job, I was very passionate about my work and exploring new technologies, troubleshooting, and solving problems of my customers. I had enjoyed my technical job career extensively.?I was more reluctant to spend my time on non-technical activities like unnecessary meetings (where my presence is not required), extended call within groups, reading bulk emails (most of them were not relevant to my daily tasks), approving requests, traveling to job (everyday almost 2+ hours travel) etc.

During my job career, I was always fascinated by keyword – Entrepreneur (During my early days in IT career I was attracted to keywords like data warehouse, business intelligence and later on Big data, data engineering and data science). I felt being entrepreneur is the real work where you will be your own boss. You will change from employee to employer – More power to impact more lives and take more control over your life & time.

I left my job twice during my career. First, after completing my 12 yrs of IT career. I tried it for 1.5 yrs. It was pure passion to learn deeper aspects of big data technology. During that time, I took more than 30+ big training and consulted 3 startups. It was complete trainer and self-employment journey. Overloaded with lots of work and new learnings every day. Due to some financial insecurities and family pressure, I went back to industry.

Now second time, I left my job after completing 18 years of experience with lots of dreams and version 2.0. But reality bites, based on my previous experience I started learning more about sales and marketing. I went through lots of learnings about digital marketing. Being self-employed is not that simple journey as you might be feeling being in the job. Entrepreneur or self-employment is different ball game of multi-facet skills where your risk capacity, people handling, money power, right associations, and many more factors play very important roles. It is tremendous self-transformation journey at one hand while on the other side, poor in the monetization of it till now.

You have various ways of living life, and it is your choice to take that route and enjoy it.

Job: Fixed working hours, guaranteed salary at the end of month. No control on time. You end up working for others at the same time you work for your family and its financial needs as well. Good and secure way of living life.

Business: Lots of uncertainty, initial investment in terms of money and time. More control on your time and what you want to do with it. No guaranteed income. Challenging and audacious?way of living life. Many goosebumps at some occasions.

It is not about job or doing business or any other activity as a source of your living. ?It is about understanding what works for you. Which flavor suites to you? If job is the place where you are comfortable and see slow, steady, and balanced growth then you need to completely devote yourself for it.

If you are abnormal, love traveling some adventurous/unknown path (being from traditional job market) and like to explore your capability with lots of uncertainties, welcome to the world of entrepreneurship. It is very glamorous when you don’t do it. It is very hard hitting when you don’t get anything from it. Your patience, networking, execution, risk and developing business acumen is very crucial in it.

Please comment about your way of living more satisfied and fulfilling life.
