Remember -- no one accidentally creates distinction.?

When exercising on Peloton recently, the online trainer used a phrase I had not previously heard. She asked, "Are you saturated in commitment?" That line struck me. It's about being totally resolute in your efforts toward attaining something you deeply desire in life or your career.

In the little Methodist church where I grew up back home in Crothersville, Indiana, we sang a hymn about being "washed in the blood." As a kid, that chorus didn't conjure up an image of commitment (instead, back then, it sounded gross -- washed in blood?) -- but I realize now that was its intent. Total commitment is a worthy goal.

Having clearly defined goals help you stay focused and motivated as you work toward achieving them. Whether your goals are professional or personal, setting measurable milestones will help keep you motivated and on track.

Here are three steps to greater commitment:

  1. Be honest with yourself. Take a moment to reflect on your goals and what you're doing each day to move toward them. If something isn't working, don't be afraid to make changes or seek out new opportunities that may better align with your commitment level and personal vision.
  2. Communicate with others about your goals. Sharing your goals with others can help keep you accountable and motivated as you work toward attaining them. Recruit friends, family members, colleagues, or mentors who can support you along the way and provide feedback if needed.
  3. Remain resilient in the face of setbacks. No matter how committed you are to reaching your goals, there will inevitably be bumps along the road – remember that it's all part of the journey. Persevere through life's challenges and take stock regularly to ensure that you're still on track. With commitment, vision, and determination, you can achieve anything you set your mind to.

At the same time, it's important to be realistic when setting your goals. It's easy to get caught up in the excitement of pursuing a big dream, but it's also essential to take the necessary steps along the way to ensure that you're making progress each day.

If you're truly "all in" on your goals, embrace that commitment and keep working with vigor toward them every day.

With focus, hard work, and persistence, then success and distinction are sure to follow.?

Great read, Scott! This topic definitely resonates. It's inevitable to encounter challenges along our journey. And it's important to stay focused and persistent in achieving our goals. "Saturated with intention" is a remarkable phrase, and a great reminder to stay focused and intentional with our actions.
