When exercising on Peloton recently, the online trainer used a phrase I had not previously heard. She asked, "Are you saturated in commitment?" That line struck me. It's about being totally resolute in your efforts toward attaining something you deeply desire in life or your career.
In the little Methodist church where I grew up back home in Crothersville, Indiana, we sang a hymn about being "washed in the blood." As a kid, that chorus didn't conjure up an image of commitment (instead, back then, it sounded gross -- washed in blood?) -- but I realize now that was its intent. Total commitment is a worthy goal.
Having clearly defined goals help you stay focused and motivated as you work toward achieving them. Whether your goals are professional or personal, setting measurable milestones will help keep you motivated and on track.

Here are three steps to greater commitment:
At the same time, it's important to be realistic when setting your goals. It's easy to get caught up in the excitement of pursuing a big dream, but it's also essential to take the necessary steps along the way to ensure that you're making progress each day.
If you're truly "all in" on your goals, embrace that commitment and keep working with vigor toward them every day.
