Are You Running on Dial-Up Speed?

Are You Running on Dial-Up Speed?

You remember your dial-up modem back in the day?

There was an endless river of AOL installation disks flowing through the country.

Beep-beep-bop…that was the sound of people coming online before wifi and broadband.

At one point in the 1990s, 50% of all CDs produced worldwide were for AOL.

They were the gateway to the old west days of the internet.

The “You’ve Got Mail” notification became famous.

But within a decade, AOL had jumped the shark—they started bleeding subscribers and took a big downhill turn to the point where today they are but a fraction of what they once were.

Try going online at dial-up speed today... your inbox would never refresh, loading videos would take forever, and even a simple Google page would take you a good 30 seconds to load on your screen.

The funny thing is, many people who would scoff at the idea of going online today through a slow dial-up modem are living their entire LIFE at dial-up speed.

  • No urgency.
  • No speed.
  • No desire to produce more.
The average American works 40 hours a week and watches 35 hours of TV.
  • People who watch the news rather than make the news.
  • People who fly under the radar rather than promoting their brand.
  • People who sleep like they’re rich when they’re poor.
  • People with small think and even smaller dreams.

The “dial-up” life is NOT committed to success as your duty, obligation, and responsibility.

But for those who are ready to upgrade, here’s the truth of the matter:

You’re not going to burn out if you find purpose.

Go the extra mile, make huge goals, and start increasing the number of actions you’re willing to take on a daily basis to reach your goals!

Then you will start living the “5G” life.

Here are 8 ways to go fast today:

1.   Listen to music that jacks you up.

2.  Protect your time like you do your kids.

3.   Carve your day into 15-minute blocks of time.

4.   Don’t have endless meetings.

5.   Live near your work — no need for a long commute.

6.   Eat healthy so your body can go from one activity to the next.

7.   Get enough sleep so you have energy.

8.   Never measure your speed by those around you.
