Are You Running A Business, Or Is Your Business “Running You”?

Are You Running A Business, Or Is Your Business “Running You”?

It's not unusual that we entrepreneurs start our journey full of enthusiasm and determination to change the world.

We want to lead by example, make an impact, gain freedom and become financially independent. We want to quit the rat race, step away from the corporate slavery and travel the world. Look after our families and live the dream life we've been picturing in our minds for so long...

Did you know how many entrepreneurs fail in their first year in business?

Unfortunately more than 96% of the times this doesn't happen exactly this way...

We quit our 9 to 5 to join a 24-7. We work more than ever before and in most cases and by very far we don't see the expected results. Things don't work and when they do, they require so much of our time that it's not worth anymore.

Other times we make some money and we have a light feeling that things start working, yet we realise that the beautiful picture with all the freedom and impact we wanted to make in the world just doesn't seem to be that idyllic after all...

We build businesses that are far from being sustainable time and income wise. We generate results that are totally unpredictable and we can't see how this system is situation going to work long term... We start lacking structure and a long term strategy.

The reality of most online entrepreneurs.

Most coaches and online entrepreneurs live in constant fear and anxiety, being afraid they will have to go back to corporate with their broken dreams and the tail between legs.

It makes me sad to see how much talent gets lost and how many of us die with their music still inside... I see them online every day, trying free tricks and tips that never work.

I know quite too well because it happened to me too. My early stages were definitely not as I had imagined them.

I lived in a constant state of fear, thinking that I would have to find a job when I'd run out of money. I was having a hard time to make ends meet even though I was pushing harder than ever before in my entire corporate life.

When is the right time to give up?

Never! You only fail when you stop trying.

And I didn't stop. But I didn't work harder either. I pushed myself to find smarter ways to make more impact and more income so I could use my time in more productive and fulfilling ways.

I found a way to have the freedom I always dreamed about, financial independence and contribute for the good of all. I joined a charity so I could sponsor kids in some of the poorest area of the world helping with food, medicines and shelter. Not only the kids but also their families.

My clients started generating even better results than myself! I started making an impact I would've never thought possible! And on top of it, I am running a business that is not sucking my life, my time and ultimately, my happiness.

When your business starts being real fun.

Now I can say I enjoy running a business that keeps growing and building momentum for itself. This way I can help others do the same in a most powerful way with the time I spare.

And being completely honest, this is actually the most fulfilling part of it. Videos like the one below make all the efforts totally worth it.

Julie and me started working together a couple of months ago, she had been working with other coaches before using different systems. She wasn't happy with the results.

Starting up and growing your business organically is not easy. It does require hard work and a clear strategy. And most coaching programs lack the necessary support and structure to make your business sustainable over time.

Start up and scale up are two completely different things.

Scalability is also an important factor not many service providers talk about. Most of us entrepreneurs start as "business operators" and we get to the point when we realise that the amount of work we need to get done, just keeps growing and growing. The solopreneur journey gets eventually exhausting.

When you have a clear path ahead and can see the bigger picture moving forward, the game changes. Knowing what to do, when to do it and having someone that can do the heavy lifting for you, is the key to becoming a business owner, not a business operator.

Julie is generating between 10 and 15 sales calls with ideal clients per week. And the best part is that she only needs to get on the phone with them and enrol these prospects into her training programs.

Moving forward, having a sales team and an online training that can generate her an income while she sleeps, will be key to the growth of her online business.

Having extra time to spend with your family, go on vacation or just do what you enjoy doing the most in your life or business is always a winning formula.
