Please, accept the compliment gracefully. I’d like for you not to tell me wrong when I’ve just authentically expressed my feelings to you. I’ve wrapped up a nice little gift – even put a bow on it – and you’ve casually tossed it to the side… and then stepped on it. Sheesh!

Believe me when I say that I've come to my opinion thoughtfully and honestly. I've got solid rationale to support my point of view! And I know I'm not alone in my opinion.

You might forget how awesome you are every now and again. We all do. If you put ego aside and follow me, together we can surface all the evidence that proves I’m right. There’s way more of that than supports your belief that you’re somehow insufficient and not enough. Come on, now. Deep down, you know I’m right.

Why don’t you pick that compliment back up, dust it off and try it on. You might not be used to it yet, but it looks pretty good on you. Amazing, actually. Brings out the color and sparkle in your eyes.
