Are you on the right train?

If you have ever traveled to Europe, you may have traveled by train. Such was the case during my most recent trip to Switzerland. The small town we stayed in did not allow cars, so the scenic train ride is how we all arrived.

What you should know is that train rides in Switzerland require attention to detail and a few more logistics than I was accustomed to... Trains can arrive and depart on different platforms, and sometimes separate during trip...

To say that I was learning and growing is an understatement. Getting lost is rarely fun (at the time), but it did remind me of some important lessons:

• Direction - Our lives require us to have a clear sense of direction, intention, and goals. Without direction, you could end up on the "wrong track". Make a plan that takes you where you want to go.
• Timing - Sometimes you can't control the timing of events in your life. However, don't give up. Be adaptable and do not allow the opportunity to pass you by. Seize the moment even when it isn't as you originally planned.
• Pivot - Trains change tracks as life does. Be flexible and pivot when trying to reach a goal. Sometimes you must reposition to get to your desired destination. Be resilient and adaptable - the change could lead to an unexpected and wonderful new destination.
• Try again - Keep moving forward. Even when there are delays and obstacles, take a deep breath and don't give up. Setbacks can be just what we need to grow and improve.

So now I ask you, "Are you on the right train in life and if not, what will you do about it?"
