ARE YOU WITH THE RIGHT CPA FIRM?
ARE YOU GIVING YOUR MONEY AWAY TO THE IRS?
Unfortunately, many companies have absolutely no idea that they are paying more than their fair share of taxes to the IRS.
HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN?
There are several ways this can happen. Listed below are just a few:
· Incorrect entity structure (e.g., being an S-Corp instead of a C-Corp)
· Having several independent entities instead of a holding company
· Missing tax credits and deductions
ALL CPAs ARE NOT ALIKE!
Don’t be fooled into thinking that the number of years of experience a CPA has under their belt equates to industry expertise. When it comes to choosing an accountant, you need to look for years of experience in your specific industry. For example, if you’re a construction company you better have a CPA firm that is an expert in the construction industry! Think about it… would you want an attorney who practiced personal injury representing you in a corporate legal matter? Absolutely not! You would seek out the most experienced corporate lawyer you could afford to handle this process. Choosing your CPA is no different.
Far too many times a company chooses the wrong professional relationship, and in the end, it ALWAYS costs the company something (e.g., decreased profit margins, cash flow strain, or in some cases the firing of a CFO). Don’t fall into this trap!
SO HOW DO YOU KNOW IF YOU HAVE CHOSEN THE WRONG PROFESSIONAL RELATIONSHIP?
Allow Berman Hopkins CPAs to review your prior year’s tax return to find out how much you did or didn’t leave on the table last year. Do not hesitate. Our Tax Physical is of no cost to you and will do one of two things: give you the peace of mind that you are in the right professional CPA relationship or help you to realize it is time for a change and you have some summer CPA shopping to do for your company!
