Become an ambassador for longitudinal joint heating to help solve one of the most expensive problems in asphalt paving for the past couple decades. Asphalt Institute and FHWA identify that a decrease in density of 1% correlates to a decrease in pavement life of 10%, meaning the compaction at the joint is critical. Pavement owners typically accept 2-3% less density on the joint, 20%to 30% less pavement life.
The FAA now allows Infrared joint heaters to improve density and contractors are using it to their advantage by skipping the cutting and removal of the cold pavement edge and using the joint heater to achieve major cost savings and getting mat densities on the joint, something most authorities previously thought not feasible.
On a single standard re-paving of a 10,000 by 200 foot airport runway, our customers are completely recouping the cost of a paver attached joint heater in savings and bonus payments. Our customers have successfully completed this type of work across North America in international, regional, and military airports. After the completion of one US army base project, Caterpillar designated the infrared joint heater as a Best Practice in their 2016 Paving Manual.
We are seeking help to increase our penetration into world airport runway re-construction with this game changing technology. Identifying all the airports undergoing renovations is a challenging task, so if you have the contacts in the industry in your corner of the world, we could use your help.
Please contact us and we will inform you about the technology and we can discuss how you might get involved. [email protected]
Sustainable asphalt pavements using patented INFRARED heaters
3 年These great references we got from existing customers using our infrared joint heaters are over a year old so time to review them. An update to them would be actual density test results reported by the state of Alaska using GPR technology, the tests taken every 6 inches(150 mm) on the joint. Results showes our customers are getting uniform mat densities on the joint. ....something most authorities don't see. That gives you 20 to 40 % more pavement life at the joint . If you are a pavement owner or specifier, please share!

5 年We've (Standard General Calgary) purchased one of these joint heaters from Bob. As it's part of the airport spec. We've had great success with it. Easy to use and set up. End product, quality. I've seen the results of matching and increased joint density.?
