You are responsible for what you put in your body

Food is the reason we live and the reason we live is also to enjoy the food we eat. There is a fine line between eating for health and eating to live. Eating to live means we are not focusing on well-being or the natural balance of the body. Eating for health looks towards consciously making a choice to put foods into the body that move it towards an equilibrium of perfect balance.

As we move forward in this century where in the last 10 years alone we have had a number of technological innovations changing our life for the better not to mention for the quicker….For example, the mobile phone or social media, the way our jobs move, everything needs to be done at a quicker pace, quicker demands, faster goals …..its a quicker RAT RACE than before. The way we eat — the kind of food we buy, where we get it, how it's prepared — has become a part of our identity, a guiding force that shapes how we live. It unites us. And divides us. Food brings people together in communal functions. But it also pits ideologies against each other: vegetarians vs. carnivores; all-natural evangelists vs. the convenience crowd; calorie counters vs. indulgence seekers.

Because of this fast-paced lifestyle, we are now looking at eating habits getting blurred behind the lines of sanity. People are eating for the sake of hunger. Eating for taste, Eating to be able to fill the stomach without really looking at what you are eating!

So FOOD has literally in the term of FAST FOOD; has gotten faster, and more unhealthy. FRIED and High calorie is the new tastier DOORSTEP APP delivered pizza or take away Box! Ease of access to junk food, No time; so foods are picked up as PACKED PROCESSED foods full of preservatives and chemical, not to mention SUGAR LOADING is a way of saying “ Come back and buy some more”

So what I reckon for the generations that eat live and breathe in today's modern world is

-????????Educate yourself on what you eat

-????????Realise and then set times when you eat and when you don’t

-????????Understand and then measure the portions you eat.

-????????Using advanced Nutrigenomics ( Food GENE TESTS), food allergy tests, normal blood test arrive at inference which says you are eating right or eating wrong

-????????DO ALL OF THE ABOVE and then begin to make minor adjustments with Monthly goals to do 1 or 2 new changes. DO not do an entire overhaul. You won't be able sustain

-????????TIP – For example never eat an 11 am snack. Add Nuts and/or green tea to that time of the day for 1 month and see how you succeed. Then continue for the rest of your life.

I believe that this consciousness of what you eat – this means avoiding all processed foods that are loaded with additives, harmful chemicals, and genetically engineered ingredients – MAKES A START TOWARDS A HEALTHIER YOU.

Whilst food companies will continue to milk the UNEDUCATED PERSON on food and sell them TASTY SAFE food, the consumer in the future?will begin to move on the highway of awareness. This awareness will drive companies to produce healthier, less sugar, more fiber products, and consumers will opt to buy these foods.

?I also believe there is a trend where everybody knows that our foods contain too many chemicals from the Farmlands to your plate. It's but a finger click away where consumers are changing preferences to Organic. The government will hopefully begin to enable policies that encourage organic growing. This one simple belief or policy that enables lesser chemicals in our food. This will be the Change that I believe, which will reverse our fortunes into better health as we age. The way our forefathers lived.

Food growing, processing, cooking, and eating needs to get Old-fashioned. It’s the way our genes have allowed it for centuries. The last 50 years have not been kind on the food chain and man. Time to Introspect WHAT DO I PUT ON MY PLATE??
