Are You a Responsible Leader?

Do you consider yourself a leader who is respected by your team based on your leadership abilities? Have you ever asked your team to rate you as a leader?

You must work hard to create for yourself the personal and professional behaviors that your team members will notice, respect, and hopefully emulate to one day become successful leaders themselves.

Here are some tips I learned over two decades as the leader of an MSP:

·???????Be intentional about everything you do. A strong leader is one who is intentional about leading his/her team to success and truly cares about their wellbeing and their career growth.?This will lead you and your company to greater MSP success.

·???????Be a great listener. Effective listening is a challenge because we’re bombarded daily with devices and other people battling for our attention. But being an attentive listener is absolutely necessary for personal and professional growth.

·???????Delegate work to others. Not delegating work prevents you from spending needed time on more critical concerns, like company strategy, and company culture. Hand off the smaller tasks to team members who are particularly good at them.

·???????Identify which type of leader you want to be. Are you the type immersed in the work every day while also strategizing? Or one who is front and center and very strategic? Knowing which one you are will be evident to your team and keep you focused on your responsibilities at hand.

At Build IT LIVE ’22, we’ve scheduled a number of educators and sessions that will help you improve leadership skills for yourself and your team members who attend with you.
