You are responsible for the energy you bring into the room- not your calendar, your toxic co-worker, or your late Amazon delivery.
Last month, I traveled to Europe to speak at Mindvalley University for a dream opportunity. In the week prior leaving I was nervous, busy with work before international travel. European travel can be exhilarating, but even amidst stunning scenery, it's easy to feel overwhelmed. Yet when I arrived in Estonia, I immediately felt an energy shift.
I wondered, What was different? How can I keep this higher energy level sustained?
THE CONNECTION OF YOUR MIND, BODY, AND THE SPACE YOU FILL
If you've attended one of my sessions, you know I often speak from a place of deep intuition and connection. That time in Europe was no different. I unveiled the brainSHIFT: Healing Busy Brain & Reconnecting to Hope. The energy in the room was infectious- over 1000 people came from all over the world who take care of their mind, bodies, and spirits. "High vibrational living"- and the positive energy is contagious!
I was there for a week and wanted to create a plan: how do I maintain the energy of “EuroRomie,” and how can I teach this to others?
The #brainSHIFT leadership principle follows simple guidelines;
(yet how many of us put our to-do list items first on the list?)
So if we are talking about managing our energy- ask yourself:
What am I doing for my brain to improve my energy??
What am I doing today for my body to improve my energy??
What am I doing today to boost the energy of my team?
EXAMPLES OF ENERGY MANAGEMENT FOR OUR DAYS AS LEADERS:
Once we calm our own Busy Brains, we get to choose the energy we bring into the room. Calm for those who feel overwhelmed and overstimulated in a setting creating sensory overload. An encouraging smile, a hug, and of course taking a pause to listen.
Remember: YOU are responsible for the energy you bring into the room.
What energy are you projecting? What energy does your company culture foster? We tend to underestimate the power our energy can have on others. As leaders, we can miss the fact that our tone and energy directly impact company culture.
So today, I want to ask you: do you have a Busy Brain? Is a Busy Brain causing you to be in energy overdrive or energy deprived? It’s time for you and your team to hashtag #brainSHIFT. I have programs that I deliver as an interactive keynote lecture and workplace wellness programs.
Let’s brainSHIFT,
Dr. Romie
