IT IS NOT ABOUT YOU

It is never about what you're selling, but always about WHO you're selling to.

And so any marketing meeting or discussion without numbers, percentages, data analysis and charts describing the market, targeted segment, and PESTAL analysis, then it's not and has nothing to do with MARKETING. It would just be a time wasting Byzantine controversy.

And so that brainstorming session held inside of the marketing offices without any accurate data of the market and it's segments, is just a waste of time and resources, because each idea, suggestion, or stated preference is nothing but a mere assumption of the actual reality and real customer perception.

The passion I have for marketing stem from the fact that the marketing concept twists and manipulates the selfless understanding of people's wants and needs for a completely selfish goal and benefit, however that benefit can not be ultimately gained without putting the selfishness aside and try to understand selflessly the wants of others.

Isn't it an irony that even when it's in our selfish beneficial gain to be selfless, we don't seem to be able to put ourselves aside.

Even big companies tend to fail to understand who are they talking to, especially when they try to operate out of their comfort zone and go over the seas, with overlooking the importance of knowing the economical behaviour analysis, customer behaviour, and market analysis, they find themselves facing huge sales drops and low general performance.

And when they wake up from their shock and confusion phase, they then realize their mistake of missing the most basic concept in business and marketing which is MARKET RESEARCH!

If you're not starting your marketing process with (what people find unnecessary and annoying) problem definition, data collection, and then analysis, the don't insult the brilliant field and concept of marketing and call what you're doing is marketing, because IT IS NOT!, It's solely media advertising.

And the examples of such misconception we have are SO MANY to the extent that we can safely say that it is almost IMPOSSIBLE to find a brand, company, or even ideology advocates who endeavor real and proper marketing.

Sad isn't it!?
