A synonym for personal brand is reputation. Your activity online and offline puts your reputation at stake at all times. The image you project to the world is absolutely crucial. it’s a real metric of your personal brand. Your personal brand is not about you, but your audience. It’s about how you can deliver value to your audience through your values, passion, story, learning and motivation.
How can you be different in a competitive world. Are you engaged in the same activity over and over again or are you thinking to do it differently ? This is the question you need to ask yourself. The personal branding cycle is a journey of growth and impact; you grow your personal brand and at the same time you add value to your audience and make an impact. The initial stage of building your personal brand is about discovering what you want to pursue taking into consideration your passion and skills. Then, you move into a stage where you focus on becoming a specialist in few domains and now going forward you are required to narrow down your specialisation to identify one area of specialisation where you become the best in the world in that domain.
The most tricky part in personal branding is that you may find individuals possessing the same skillset as yours. How are you planning to differentiate from them is the challenge. This is about competing with yourself, not with others. What type of skills are trending and how you can you upskill to get those skills under your belt ?
The Future of Work requires you to become an expert. An expert has a broad, deep understanding and competence in terms of knowledge, skill and experience through practice and learning. When you become an expert in a particular field of study, through continuous learning you are able to keep your head above the water. We live in a world of plenty of noise. Many distractions create the tendency to deviate our focus. However, razor focus is essential to succeed.

11 个月"A recognized expert is someone who is focused on continuous growth" - Totally agree. But How do I know I have been recognized and How I shall focus on continuous growth. My suggestion is to build a culture around you to get feedbacks. It's not jut "feed backs" but it is FF (Frequent Feedback) through a STAR (Situation/ Task/ Actions/ Result) model. This where you start to focus on requirements of growth.

11 个月It's a great article.I agree with your perspective. In addition to that , the leadership styles play a pivotal role in shaping personal brands within the corporate sector. Effective communication, empowerment, collaboration, and providing constructive feedback contribute not only to personal growth but also to how one is perceived by peers. Consistently demonstrating these qualities fosters a positive professional reputation and reinforces the strength of one's personal. Happy to know your view on this?
