Are You Really That Powerful?

6 years ago, I heard one of my mentors say ‘I help powerful people remember how powerful they really are’, and I thought it was a nice marketing statement that didn’t really mean anything.
It sounded like he is just hyping people up. This was still in the early days of my coaching career and I was still pursing my initial coaching credentials. I assumed, all coaches get trained on similar skills, and they all must be the same. I made two assumptions and I was mistaken in both.
I was in a conversation with my current coach very recently, exploring what it is that I really offer to my clients under the guise of coaching. And I told him in the coaching conversation, “You know what, I help people remember how powerful they really are, and that’s true Coaching for me.”
I said those words and I heard what I said, and it hit me that the development of a coach has little to do with their coaching skills. It has to do with their ‘Being’, and that is not taught in training school.
When I said that statement, I was not trying to come up with a marketing line. I was introspecting on what was true for me in my own journey as a human being, and what I end up doing in my journeys with coaching clients?
Because I saw how powerful I am. I saw how I was creating my reality every single moment of my life. I saw how quickly that reality can change, and I saw how stagnant that reality can be.
And I saw how it is all being done through me. And seeing that is the end of all insecurity, and that is the end of all stress.
Because you’re stressed out when you are not in control in a chaotic world. You’re not stressed out when you’re the center of the chaos itself, which is absolute stillness.
Clearly, this is not a technique. This is not ‘do this for 21 days and you’ll be stress-free’ like most people out there would put it. This is an insight into your true nature, it’s a wisdom that gets awoken from within you, helping you see yourself and your life in a different light. This is real powerful coaching in my opinion.
Imagine this: think of your life and look around. Look around physically. Look around mentally at your life and imagine ‘what if you are the center of all of this?’
And I’m not saying it as an egoistic statement, I am saying it simply as you’re looking around and you’re seeing this world every single day since you’re born. From your point of you is where you’re seeing it.

Literally, you are standing at the Point of You where you turn around and you see the world. That makes the point of You the center of your personal world.
If that makes sense for you, then stay with that thought, stay with that feeling and see what happens. Notice what fresh thinking comes your way when you put yourself in a position where you acknowledge, how absolutely important you are in your world.
As powerless as you might feel given circumstances, notice how absolutely in a position of power you are in your world, of how without you, your world wouldn't exist. If you settle down enough in your mind, you will notice something. I hope you do this little exercise. I hope you stay still long enough for something fresh to come to your mind, for you to see something differently about your life.
And if you don’t understand this and you want to understand it, drop a message or drop a comment somewhere here and we will have a conversation about it. I wish you good luck and I’ll talk to you soon.
Love,
Rishi.
