Are you a Realistic or Unrealistic Optimist?

"But I am a positive person! No bad vibes or thoughts allowed around me." Right? No.

There are two ways to be an optimist:

  1. The unrealistic optimists who believe good things will just happen without any effort or work done from their side.
  2. Then comes the realistic optimists who believe that they have the power to make good things happen, even through challenging times.

People should know that there’s a middle ground to aim and work for—one that’s not all “Happy Thoughts” but still maintains the hope for the best. And it’s called realistic optimism.

I will teach you how to practice realistic optimism in a few simple steps:

  • Pinpoint what having what you want would look like—and visualize yourself achieving it.

Do you want to get extra income? Great. Imagine yourself debt-free or spending money on things you love. Feels good huh? Great. Now move on to the next step.

  • Get back to reality

Confused? Don't be. You have to think through what kind of obstacles you might come across along the way. Then think about the measures you’d take to overcome them, and believe that you will.

  • Start taking action

The power of realistic optimism is that it helps us accept what we can and can’t control.

You can't control the collective pandemic, but you can control your attitude and mindset towards it.

Positive thinking can and will create magic and miracles in our lives, but only and only when it is associated with the right effort and a realistic approach.

Have your attitude upbeat with feet firmly on the ground, your mind totally aware of the facts, and your heart strong enough to accept any situation that comes your way. That is a real positivity.
