“What you mean is exactly what you say, which is exactly what I hear” - The formula to “perfect” communication

According to a Forbes article, the number 1 obstacle to effective communication is when “what you mean is not what you say and/or what gets heard.” It is important that the message conveyed aligns with the message received. Here are some findings that will show how crucial effective communication is:

  • According to HR Magazine, nearly half of employees (46%) reported regularly receiving directions that were confusing or unclear, resulting in approximately 40 minutes of wasted productivity each day as they attempt to decipher these unclear instructions.
  • Annually, communication inefficiency among care providers leads to a staggering waste of over $12 billion in U.S. hospitals.
  • According to a study conducted by Ketchum Communications, a mere 31% of individuals believe that their leaders excel in effective communication.

Investing in cultivating a culture of clear and effective communication within teams is not just a choice, but a strategic necessity for organizations

At its core, the idea of team development is straightforward: bring together a group of skilled and motivated individuals and assign them a common objective. However, in practice, building a successful team requires careful planning and deliberate effort to ensure that each member's strengths are maximized and that the team functions smoothly and effectively toward achieving its goals.

It is through this deliberate cultivation that teams can seamlessly synchronize their efforts, harmonize their diverse talents, and propel themselves towards achieving shared goals. The pursuit of team development is a testament to the commitment of organizations to harness collective excellence, where the sum of individual capabilities is truly greater than its parts.

We will discuss this and more on May 30th at the virtual event “Team Development – Improve Communication And Collaboration.” More Information HERE.
