Key Message during the Session
Satya and Jared highlighted the huge improvements Copilot has made in the last 18 months. Over 700 product updates and over 150 new features ??.
?? Site note: Between March 16th and yesterday's announcement were 551 days. This means that on average 1.5 updates/new features were released.
Compared to other AI systems, the integration into the M365 environment is a real differentiator. It's the wealth of content within the rich database that provides better information and deeper insights, not just the use of generative AI.
Model upgrade, hello GPT-4o!
?? Finally it's here, Copilot gets a huge upgrade with the 4o model as its underlying base model. Of course Copilot uses different models in the backend and does not have 1 to 1 the same model as ChatGPT, BUT (!) having the 4o as a foundation brings a lot of improvements. Not only in terms of speed, but also in terms of quality and ways to interact with Copilot in general.
Copilot responses are more than two times faster on average, and response satisfaction has improved by nearly three times
Copilot Pages for a more collaborative way to work together
With Copilot Pages, Microsoft introduces the concept of BizChat, a new way to collaborate. When Copilot generates an output for you, it creates a Copilot Page based on Loop Components, so it's super easy to invite your colleagues to work on the document.
Microsoft also says: the first new digital artifact for the AI age

Copilot Agents - your personal assistant for specific tasks
Microsoft 365 Copilot has the context of all your documents and information, but sometimes it's too powerful. Sometimes we want to limit the documents and the context that are relevant to a specific task, or we want to add additional behaviors to our AI assistance.
With the concept of Copilot agents, you can build your own AI assistance for your personal use or for a specific task in your organization.
Agents are also available in SharePoint; simply select the relevant folders and documents and generate your agent.
Agents can be created from scratch or edited using Copilot Studio.
??? Availability: Copilot agents and agent builder in BizChat will be rolling out in general availability to all customers over the coming weeks. Copilot agents and agent builder in SharePoint will enter preview in early October.?
Copilot in Teams recap includes chat history
The ability for copilots to summarize the meeting is already a huge game changer. But sometimes not only the spoken words are important, but also the chat history. With the new feature, Copilot summarizes the chat history as well.

Copilot in Excel will be GA and gets Python integration
Copilot in Excel is finally general available.
But to be honest, most of us use at most 10% of the power of Excel. Often additional programming skills are needed, for example Python would be great. Say no more!
Copilot in Excel can now provide you with Python scripts to get even more out of Copilot.

Copilot in PowerPoint Brand Manager, narrative stories and more
Some of you may have seen the latest upgrade with narrative storytelling in PowerPoint. This is a great upgrade to PowerPoint.

And if you are missing an image, the new image generator lets you easily create a new image powered by AI.

But so many companies asked for the integration of the corporate asset library - and there it is: PowerPoint Brand Manager! Now you can use your own assets to better align your corporate presentation with your CI/CD. Copilot pulls company-approved images from your SharePoint Organization Asset Library.

Copilot in Word reference to other files
This update seems super small, but to me it has a huge impact! You can now reference other file types like PDFs, meetings, etc.
Recent updates include a new canvas start experience with suggested prompts to jumpstart your creative process and the ability to collaborate inline with Copilot as you work on specific sections of your document.

Copilot in Outlook helps you to prioritze your inbox
We all get overwhelmed by the amount of email we receive every day. With Copilot's new "prioritize my inbox" feature, you get real support for your daily life by analyzing your inbox based on both the content of your emails and the context of your role.

Copilot in SharePoint
Of course there are also several updates around Copilot in SharePoint. First of all: Copilot in SharePoint is now rolling out to customers

Second, you've already heard about the concept of Copilot agents and how they work in SharePoint. (more details earlier in this article). Finally, you can integrate your SharePoint-based Copilot agent into your workflow. Just mark your Copilot as a chat participant.
