Are you ready to pivot your LinkedIn strategy?

Before I get to LinkedIn, let me ask you a question – are you an Instagram user?

It’s no secret that I love LinkedIn and it’s my number one social media platform, but I’ve had my toes in on Instagram for a number of years now and I regularly share content there (mainly LinkedIn leftovers, lol) several times a week.

Last week, Instagram announced a MAJOR pivot in their business strategy that some are describing as “the death of social media as we know it”.

The head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri, announced that instead of being the photo-sharing app we’ve all come to know, Instagram is now going to focus heavily on video, in a bid to keep up with the likes of TikTok and YouTube.

Now, even if you don’t use the app, this pivot is important to take notice of for two reasons:

1) Video content is here to stay

Daniel Roth, LinkedIn's Editor in Chief, shared in his last weekly newsletter that TikTok style videos are making a welcome entry to LinkedIn, so there’s no escaping it here either (read the article here).

If you haven’t yet added video to your content strategy, it’s time to wake up and get on board before you completely miss this train.?

(I’ll be experimenting with TikTok style videos on LinkedIn over the next few weeks, so keep an eye out for these!)

2) It’s okay to make pivots in your business?

There is no rule that the business you start with is the business you must go to your grave with.?

In fact, some of the best and healthiest companies pivot all the time - it’s what keeps you fresh, relevant and ahead of the competition.

If you haven’t made a pivot in your business for a while, now’s the time to take a cold hard look at what you’re doing and who you’re serving to see if anything needs to change.

Feel free to take a 'CEO day', like I did, to think this through properly (see my video post here).

Instagram is not the only one making pivots in their business...

18 months ago, I started my LinkedIn coaching business to help women, in general, get visible on LinkedIn so you can build your brand and increase your income.

Over the past few months, I’ve been quietly pivoting to a new audience who I’ve come to recognise are best placed to make the best use of my services.

This audience is female coaches.

And, in particular, female coaches who are either new to coaching (having transitioned from a corporate career usually) or new to using LinkedIn as a platform.

The LinkedIn Experience - Thursday 29th July?

Over the next few months, you’re going to see and hear me focusing heavily on this audience and creating products and services that directly speak to the experience coaches have in running their business.

The very first of these is an exclusive event I’m hosting on Thursday 29th July called The LinkedIn Experience.

This is a 3-hour experiential workshop for female coaches who want to learn how to use LinkedIn to build a profitable coaching business.

In the 3 hours we spend together, I will give you the complete blueprint for building your coaching business on LinkedIn, alongside practical ideas and action points that you can implement straightaway to start seeing results.

We’re going to go deep at this event and we’re going to tailor it to your specific coaching business, leaving no question unanswered.

Will you be one of the 10?

To make sure every coach who attends gets the most out of the session, I’m making this a small group event and limiting the numbers to just 10 women.

I’ve only just started speaking about this event and already one space is gone.

I know the other nine spaces will go quickly, so if you’re interested in joining me for this unique event that will transform your LinkedIn experience as a coach, drop a yes in the comments or send me a DM and let me know today - no procrastination.

This is not a free event – there is a significant financial investment required to attend this session, so please only enquire if you are serious about growing your coaching business, you understand the importance of investing in your own growth, and you’re ready to pivot your LinkedIn strategy.

If that’s you, get in touch.

----

For now, I’d love to hear your thoughts on Instagram’s pivot and LinkedIn’s welcoming of TikTok videos.

Are you looking forward to these? Will you be joining in? ?Let me know in the comments…?

Yessss, ?? Mildred!! But the difference is, you're actually paying attention to the people you serve. Instagram cares nothing about users or user experience because they know people will conform for followers and engagement. You've adapted your model to better help women; Instagram is adapting to just keep up with everyone else.
