Are you ready to LEAD?

When we think of great leaders throughout history some inspiring figures come to mind.

Jesus Christ - George Washington - John F. Kennedy - Julius Caesar

Charlemagne - Winston Churchill - Mahatma Gandhi - Rosa Parks - Joan of Arc

Martin Luther King Jr. - Abraham Lincoln - Nelson Mandela - Barack Obama

Alexander the Great - Bill Gates - Thomas Jefferson - Mother Teresa

We have to acknowledge that these and many other world-changing individuals possessed not only the ability to think creatively, communicate effectively and take action, but they also had the ability to connect with those around them. The world continues to be in need of talented, passionate, and compassionate leaders. We often label those individuals who willingly support these leaders as Followers.

I think we can all agree that not all who choose to follow will always live as followers. I believe that we’ve all been created to become leaders during our lives. Not every leader will be able to say they conquer and rule over a nation of citizens, has founded a multi-million dollar company, or is a head coach of a team. However, we all possess the ability to encourage, support, and love those around us on a daily basis. A leader is more than just someone who selfishly lives to build up themselves or directs others to carry out demands. 

A "Leader" is someone who takes it upon him or herself to help those around them to reach their potential, achieve their goals, or to grow in some aspect of their life. To become a leader you must first choose to move towards a place where you are developing, challenging, and leading yourself on a daily basis. The time it takes for someone to arrive at a place of self-leadership is different for everyone. To me a leader instills qualities of confidence, peace, empathy, and love in others.
