Whether Hurricane Joaquin hits North Carolina or not, it's no secret that our area has seen more than its share of devastating hurricanes over the years.  Do you remember Hurricane Floyd in 1999?  Over four million acres of land, including entire towns, were left underwater.  How about Hurricane Fran?  Fran had hurricane gusts as far inland as the Triangle and was the worst economic disaster this state has ever seen.
