Are you ready to go?

Are you ready to go?

Like, right now? If called by work, family, or friends - pack a bag and head out of the house?

It's okay if not. Most people have obligations and commitments they can't just drop or shift on short notice. And if you don't travel frequently, you probably don't have the practice of packing the essentials and not forgetting something. Being "travel nimble" just isn't essential for most people.

But being "opportunity nimble" is a different type of ready to go. When a new opportunity presents itself, are you ready to say yes? This type of readiness is critical to growing personally and professionally. It's the ability to build upon what you've accomplished and use it to grab hold of the next level. Being tied to and comfortable in your current circumstances is fine. But it will make you less nimble. If you're focusing on all the things you still need to do where you're at today, you'll underprioritize all the new things you could be doing.

Being ready to go doesn't mean being disloyal to where you're at. It doesn't mean being mercenary in your approach. What it does mean is being proactive at making sure you're keeping loose ends tied up. It means you know whose got the thread when it's time for you to let go. Being nimble doesn't mean being disconnected. Instead, you're connected smartly. Consider how laptop plugs used to be firmly attached. If you grabbed your laptop and ran, you probably broke the power cord or something on the desk. Now, they're held on by magnets - strong enough to do the job and loose enough to let you hop to the next.

And that's what ready to go can mean. It means staying nimble. It means being effective. And it means being able to say yes when you're ready for something new.

So, as we wrap up June and head into the last half of 2024 - are you ready to go?

Week In Review

As always, my posts from the week varied from some polls to other thoughts inspired by the world around me. Watching SpaceX Falcon Heavy boosters land certainly shows the spirit of "ready to go" - both in what the space program has accomplished and where it could take us.

Here's what was on the mind this week:

On the "Rebrand after a breach" poll you'll see the "yes" has a strong minority, but the conversation and the votes tip toward "no" - what are your thoughts? What's a reason for voting "yes"?

Don't Forget!

The Atlanta ToolBank is having its summer cornhole event in less than a month! Interested in going? DM me for the details!

In Conclusion

Thank you for reading this far today. It truly is appreciated that you take time from your day to share thoughts with me - especially the comments and conversations we have here. I'm always happy to have a conversation - so please reach out!

If you've read this far, share the comment "LET'S GO" and let me know if you'd like a free trial of LinkedIn Premium. I still have some to share. You can't have previously used a free trial or been a subscriber, though.

I'm looking forward to what July brings and I hope this coming week and month is exactly what you need it to be!

Thanks, as always!
