Panel 2 - Partnership, Networking & Collaboration, Voices Rising: Refugee-led Solutions Conference 2023

Global Rights Defenders has published the Voices Rising: Refugee-led Solutions Conference 2023 Narrative Report. The first ever refugee-led Conference at Kakuma refugee camp promoted meaningful discussion among government entities, partner organizations, grassroots organizations, the media, private sector, and more.

By implementing all recommendations as outlined in this report, the Government of Kenya, international partners, and all related entities are upholding their commitments to the Global Compact for Refugees (GCR), the Comprehensive Refugee Response Framework (CRRF), and the UN Sustainable Development Agenda 2030 ahead of the Global Refugee Forum (GRF) 2023.

Humanity Hands (formerly INVER) has officially registered as a Community-Based Organization (CBO) in Turkana County, Kenya. Humanity Hands seeks to change narratives, promote the resilience and psycho-social well-being of refugees in Kakuma Refugee Camp, Turkana County, Kenya, through programs focusing on Education, Digital Literacy, Enterprise development, Arts, sexual and Reproductive Health Education (SRHE). They focus on the Five thematic areas of interventions within the Kakuma Refugee Camp: Education, Digital literacy, Entrepreneurship, Sexual & Reproductive Health (SRH) and Art.

Afghan refugees in Islamabad face increased risk of forced repatriation. The government has vowed to expel "all illegal foreigners". Afghan asylum seekers face precarious human rights conditions if returned to their country of origin, as the Taliban's government will not treat returnees kindly.
