Are You Ready To Fight For Yourself

Are You Ready To Fight For Yourself

Your moment.

Your defining moment is here. Again.

But what was that defining moment in your life when you realized that you were finally ready to fight for yourself? Did you recognize it? Did you miss it? Did you dismiss it? Or did you embrace it and act on it?

If you have a dream, don’t just sit there. Gather courage to believe that you can succeed and leave no stone unturned to make it a reality. ~ Roopleen

For some, the defining moment came erely in life and never stopped. For some started but then got lost... And for others, it is yet to go without realizing how much power we are giving to others that are not acting in our best interest. Acting or not in our best interest in personal and professional life that we can't ignore any longer.

We have an excellent opportunity to pause and ask ourselves this thought-provoking question. It provides tremendous insights into who we are and how we show up based on how we act. Not what we say, but what we do.

Courage doesn't always roar, sometimes it's the quiet voice at the end of the day whispering 'I will try again tomorrow ~ Mary Anne Radmacher

Eventually, chapter three leads us to the breaking point to start fighting for ourselves as I go into more detail in my book, The World Messenger: From Fear To Greatness . But nothing meaningful or lasting happens unless we acknowledge our breaking point and face our fears.

We all have a pivotal moment or two in our lifetime that propel us to make a difficult decision that significantly changes the course of our entire life. To claim or reclaim our space, voice, stance, choices, or direction.

How remarkable is that, Champions!

Other times, it is there to remind others that just because of our silence, we don't agree with the ignorance of others. By our calmness, we don't accept certain behaviors. By our kindness, we are not weak or naive. We see and know what's going on.

As a result, we must adjust accordingly. Because what we tolerate, we ultimately accept. And that is a dangerous place to be.

Don't ever mistake my silence for ignorance. My calmness for acceptance. My kindness for weakness.

More than ever, we are observing the decisions and conditions of our environment. And in the end, making much-needed changes accordingly, our new journey finally begins by saying yes to ourselves, leading us to our life meant for us all along. Guiding us through our greatness within as we self-rediscover who we trilly are. By analyzing it with no judgment, no shame, no blame, no playing small or being a victim. By no longer excusing ourselves for our wrong dung.

It is time to quit making it hard by self-assessing daily behaviors and allowing to pause, reset and recalibrate.?

Champions, true magic happens when we accept our mistakes, errors, and roles we played and make conscious decisions to be, do and have better.

When we say yes to ourselves we:

  • Ask what we want and need with powerful conviction
  • Don't settle anymore for less, ever
  • Stop tolerating everything that does not serve us
  • Don't play small or ignore red flags to get along
  • Know when to say YES and when to say NO
  • Act courageously despite our fears and worries
  • Do the right things regardless of how difficult it may be
  • Provide and seek truth, honesty, and trust
  • Lead by example and unwavering standards
  • Embrace change and the unknown
  • Show up for ourselves every day
  • Have and know our non-negotiables and standards
  • Invest and reinvest into ourselves
  • Accept and ask for help
  • Quit being difficult and making it hard
  • Make and stand behind our own decisions

And the list can go on and on as we pause and reflect. These critical changes will get you on the fast track to success and tremendous (self) respect infused by sustainable confidence and leadership. And that is so powerful.

When we stay strong and continue to be brave by staying true to our values and standards, we have nothing to lose.

Further, I would highly recommend reading "My Moment: 106 Women on Fighting for Themselves" and their epic journey of breakthroughs that led them to tremendous success. This book is a collection of essays accompanied by beautiful black-and-white photography from a diverse group of women on the moment they realized they were ready to fight for themselves—including Gloria Steinem, Lena Waithe, Joanna Gaines, Brandi Carlile, Beanie Feldstein, Cynthia?Erivo, and Billie Jean King, among many others.

It always seems impossible until it's done. ~ Nelson Mandela
