Are You Ready to Embrace the Future of Work? If Not, I've Got You Covered

The pandemic changed the world in unimaginable ways. What used to be normal like going to cafes, meeting our loved ones, hosting parties suddenly became a privilege.

I am beyond grateful to be able to write this alive and kicking. Work also found a new meaning in India and globally. We are evolving and so is the future of work. Here’re my 10 cents on how it's going to look like:

1. Virtual reality is going to bring a difference to all organizational fronts including talent acquisition and interviews. People are going to embrace video calls and screens as a tool to develop soft skills like #communication and not as barriers to their growth.

2. Except for industries like Hospitality, FMCG, Healthcare, Supply Chain and Aviation wherein ground work is a mandate and remote work isn’t a possibility, hybrid work models are going to boom across sectors for cost savings and pandemic induced habits.

3. Early startups and small businesses are going to opt for flexible seating co-work spaces rather than going for dedicated office spaces for cost savings and to spend more with time as they scale. Sustainable growth will become their primary mindset.

4. Employees have learned to become more accountable with remote work and they will continue to do so in future as well. That said, more and more employees would be bringing fresh and innovative ideas to the table with more 1:1 conversations with leaders to bring them to life.

5. Organizations are going to demarcate clear boundaries between in-house staffing and outsourced work because there’s plenty of data now to drive decisions about which functions can be kept in-house for optimum productivity and what can be outsourced for workplace harmony.

6. World Health Organization estimates the potential economic loss caused mentalhealth challenges in India alone might stand at USD 1.03 TRILLION during 2012-30. #Mentalhealth hiring will pick traction as organizations would hire counselors, therapists, and other mental health professionals for employee well-being.

7. Individual contributors at the workplace are going to find a new podium for growth as leaders can identify high performers and build succession plans to sprout the seeds of #leadership for a better future.?

8. Employees would be able to have open conversations with leaders about work styles that can help with peak performance and productivity. The one size fits all solution to onboarding and upskilling can take a backseat. Personalized learning methods would take over for good.

9. Workcations are going to witness a surge as more startups would be offering that as a part of rewards and benefits program. Not only the travel sector would boom but employee-employer bonding would reach distant heights with more sense of belonging at workplace.

10. Organizations would greatly benefit from the #edtech as employee learning vs performance can clearly reflect if one is more comfortable with self-paced learning, peer-to-peer learning, or workshops. LinkedIn Learning is going to become the new upskilling system.

How do you see the future of work? See you in the comments??

I love multi-tasking. It is sometimes difficult, as one needs to invest more time for the same. People ask me why I'm not returning to my previous career. I tell them once I changed my career in the covid phase, I made the decision to focus completely on the writing and digital marketing industry. Having focus is a must if one wants to do multi-tasking. I'm regularly learning new lessons from experts like you.
