Are You Ready For The Abundant Corporate World? Let's Find Out! I Am Ready...

This article takes a practical approach with a very minimalistic expectation, focusing on actions over mere motivation. As a finance and business consulting professional, I emphasize cultivating the right attitude through each word put out on media, off media at meetings, socials, at home etc and create simple systems for lasting success.

I'm not into just motivating people; I prefer getting things done. I empower by instilling the right attitude with the right people around me. Observing the world, I maintain deep trust and belief. I'm passionate about my job and invested in a happy current and future workforce. But, like many, I also face challenges discussed below, as we navigate together, ensuring progress without leaving anyone behind. So, on Sunday, May 12th, 2024, I publish this article.

Who am I:

I'm just like you, grappling with the chaos of the world, including what I see on platforms like LinkedIn and life around me. When discussing issues, I believe in focusing on the future clear vision and outlining the daily steps each of us can take to achieve a better corporate world for all, rather than just complaining and passing problems around or creating intermediaries to solve - this won't kill the root cause.

Did you know that positive individuals often surround themselves with the best? I'm one of them. Is the corporate world also for the best folks in the long-run? We ponder....

In this article, I explore the frustrations present in today's global corporate world and provide simple solutions that are often overlooked. These solutions are applicable to all career levels and sectors globally.

I delve into topics such as self-empowerment, critical thinking, and adopting an abundance mindset, not only towards our colleagues but also towards our planet, recognizing its vital role in our existence.

Why read:

This article resonates with people who have the right attitude because I'm an online collaborator. Many have expressed feeling energized after reading my comments with their corporate struggles globally. I don't share my thoughts for publicity; instead, I do it to encourage you to take charge and create change. I've noticed many unhappy younger individuals who are hesitant to enter the corporate world, and many get stuck in a loop without expressing it until they break free. I'm not a coach or motivator. I'm just another reader like you, aiming to inspire abundance thinking for the betterment of society and to simplify it for all. That's all I ask of YOU in every way to think, speak and act abundantly, so it's contagious across the corporate world. Those who try to impact the root causes, often tell me they run backwards. Instead, each of us needs to make this happen with YOUR help in every word and action, by dipping into your belief and your own self-empowered thinking.

Why me, the leaders are appointed for that. I am not paid to do that:

You are the future, and every word, action, and decision you make, from applying for a job to resigning, shapes the corporate world. Tolerating leads to stagnation. Choose wisely and work with those who speak positively and those who act on it decisively. If the corporate playing field remains uneven despite your efforts, you risk getting stuck in the cycle further down the line. That's why it's crucial for each of us to understand what truly brings us joy and strive for it at work, maintaining a healthy work-life balance and cherishing life's little moments by not passing the burden onto others.

Why I am personally frustrated:

Negativity pervades everything. Self-centered power leaders emerge, particularly after accumulating position and wealth. But amidst the chaos of the corporate world, I VISUALISE something else entirely:

I can't help but envision boardrooms of all sizes around the world filled with individuals of all races, ages, and from diverse sectors, passionately discussing innovative ideas where they make things happen. Not the sad Sunday morning scenes we often see on LinkedIn. I believe in this vision, where people of all ages freely share knowledge and act on it. It's crystal clear in my mind. I smile. I refuse to accept negativity. I have full faith that this vision will become a reality SOON because each of us will strive to create & work with great people.

The most pressing issues stemming from past actions in 2024 are outlined below.

Lack of worldwide skills:

Let those who only make noise about the supposed lack of skills continue to do so. Everyone has skills in all sectors; they just need guidance and support in the right direction.

It's concerning how prevalent it is to hear influential leaders worldwide consistently express frustration about the 'perceived' lack of skills or the difficulty in finding skilled individuals in every sector. This narrative fosters feelings of inadequacy and discouragement among many. It's clear it's their attitude to scarcity, fear, control and it's not always YOU.

Instead of perpetuating this sense of deficiency, why not shift our language towards collaboration and growth? Imagine if leaders acknowledged the need for more knowledge in certain areas and invited everyone to work together towards improvement.?

They could instead say, 'We recognize the need for more knowledge in these areas, and here's how we can work together to address it. Do you think we can try X, Y or Z. What are your thoughts across all worker levels? We're all in this together.' This shift could bring out the best in everyone and pave the way for true growth for all. Leadership rightly moves to self-empowerment and not control and manipulation.

One can't help but question their leadership abilities or perhaps the above-average are already silently working with the best people already hmm...I ponder!

Let's wisely challenge the status quo every day by not complaining and instead choosing wisely with every word we speak at work, socials, after work etc and cultivate a culture of inclusivity by not tolerating less and growth for all including those above average with a great attitude too.

Do we hang out with people of all ages, races and views, outside of work? Do we engaged in forced play like creative games apart from dine and drink? Mostly NO. Until we do that, there will be no DEI at work. What you do outside work is what shows up at work largely.

Rather than fearing job loss or reputation, consider the positive ripple effect of your actions today, leading to broader positive changes benefiting all, including the current leaders who often favor average or below-average approaches. You notice the combative conversations and you know it. You instead choose to smart work with those of the future.

In contrast to compassionate and positive discussions, many leaders often engage in combative dialogues, whether in the media or at offline senior meetings, often centered around complaints no vision no action. However, I choose to maintain a positive outlook, confident that we will collectively make wise decisions and pave the way for a brighter future for ourselves and the generations to come, by choosing very quickly and intentionally to work with great people.

It is 'what' you know NOT 'who' you know:

Who you know at work often leads to bias in the long run, so why attempt unless desperate? When right people with critical selfless thinking are in ALL the right power seats, then magic happens. So hiring is the starting point.

Hiring based on potential, attitude and drive not familiarity like CV scoring on education, and experience is only 5% of the real game. At present, after a certain seniority or at the point of early entry, it is the standard template, who you know or luck through the back door – instead, try this - ?it is always what you know and the attitude towards life and work and to not tolerate less or toxicity. Now the magic begins. When your workers grow then you grow multifold if not you spend far more on correction action like expensive consultancy etc. Since the abundance mindset happens very scarcely across the globe, you don’t see it. If you don't see it then YOU CREATE it. We can all be part of the 1% abundance mindset. Yes YOU can.

Corporate world for above average, all skill levels and future generations:

In today's corporate world, it often seems that leaders favor average performers over exceptional ones, leading to frustration among those who excel unless you are 'nice and liked at the top by all', 'they are not intimidated by your talents' and when you are not their 'critical' friend - this approach stuns growth for companies also individuals. Exceptional individuals often leave such environments, puzzled by the lack of recognition for their talents.

Most leaders often overlook the power they have to swiftly remove those who bring negativity and office politics at the onset. They chuck the whistleblowers and pat the bad apples most of the time. We require bold empowering people around us if we are to thrive and grow. Your HEALTH and daily SANITY comes first.

When you work fast you are given more of the same work. Instead ask your diligent workers 'what do you prefer to work on and how can I support you'. This is often never happens due to back-to-back meetings with 90% of it not needed.

When you are working slowly and are liked, you are mostly promoted.

When you are above average, mostly it is who you know not what you know.

If you are excellent then it is down to your luck.

This is what I see and hear globally. Hence MOST employee journeys is often tricky at some point, unless everything falls into place for you, which often is rare.

The truly exceptional individuals don't stick around in average corporate environments for long; they walk away. It's puzzling to me that many outstanding people I personally know aren't in influential positions, most choose not to due to tricky cultures at large given poor historical leaders hence the massive corporate unhappiness.

Attitude wins over confidence any day; it's not just about what you know, but how you approach challenges and how everyone grows along with you at the pace they choose to grow. We must respect that intentionally by asking the workers proactively.

A ray of hope: I've encountered numerous exceptional individuals who quietly go about their work, knowing full well who to connect with, as there are quite a few challenging personalities at the top and at all levels out there who make basic change impossible.?This is why YOU need to act intentionally and not settle for LESS.

By taking action every day, prioritizing people and their values over mere money, and seeking collaboration with like-minded individuals, we can shift power towards deserving leaders who value all skill levels. Slowly but gradually we can and must.

Youthful ambition often clashes with the reality of corporate burnout and proving oneself repeatedly. Most won't burn out, so don't pass it around. It's up to individuals to seek out great leaders and break free from mediocrity and burn out, with honest open proactive negotiation. Many express dissatisfaction but hesitate to act; however, change requires decisive action at all levels, not just complaints. We can't act for you. You must.

Rather than focusing on supposed skill shortages, let's recognize everyone's potential and provide guidance. By aligning ourselves with the best and fostering collaboration, we can create a brighter future for all. This needs empathy and honesty at heart. So choose to work with them. Network and believe. Universe will make it happen for YOU.

I've noticed many young professionals expressing dissatisfaction on platforms like LinkedIn, and even during casual conversations with me. They feel stuck at work, like they're going in circles. But we're not ones to just complain; we're creating solutions and aligning ourselves with the best people. Leaving it too long creates more mess and people need time to believe you. I can't fathom but note why change management is at the top of the list for most companies.

Selfless Leadership and Critical Thinking:

A proactive visionary approach is needed.

One online collaborator rightly mentioned that 'worshipping and polishing 'Title' leadership often leads to crises in selfless leadership in the long run.’

It might take a considerable amount of time for the masses to believe in this shift once you initiate it, hence the urgency to act swiftly for the benefit of the corporate world. Instead try this: be transparent with recruitment agencies and candidates. Avoid 'MUST' on your job adverts. There is just too many MUSTs on it! Ask at the interview stage what workers need and give them just that or more. If it's hard for you, then negotiate or point them to another organization (a great skills swap across sectors too - since talent pools did not previously help). HR or agency can do this if employer teams don’t have resources. If you want a happy ending for you, you make it work somehow with your workers. They come before your customers. No cookie-cut convenient approach works ONLY an individual approach does.

Recently, I faced a tempting interim job with significant financial gain but was accompanied by a bad attitude toward resolving issues left by the disjoint leadership we see at large. This was sending me back into the burn out loop. I was intentional not to be part of the burnout generation. However, I refused, considering the potential sector-wide, even global impact if more individuals choose to work with future-fit leaders. By rejecting such offers, we accelerate the workings of karma. Aligning with great leaders can amplify their voices in the media, offering hope and work with those with clear step by step solutions instead of just highlighting problems. We cannot delegate we all play our part daily.

Many struggle with narrow focus, contributing to dnon-leadersisengagement issues and change management. To tackle this, it's essential to dedicate time each day to exercising our critical thinking brain muscles (leaders and non-leaders).

Instead try this: take a holistic approach to an issue, asking why and how, and envision a future where diverse perspectives drive success in boardrooms across sectors. Embrace an abundance mindset where everyone's growth benefits all those around them and in return yours is multifold. One cannot do this alone. It's everyone's role to play each day.

Rather than creating new roles for every emerging problem that we often see, let's simplify the process by empowering ALL to think critically. There's a wealth of resources available—free books, free online content—that can help develop this skill without the need for expensive training or coaches. By taking charge of our own development, we can handle self-created challenges effectively and avoid burning out. Let's empower ourselves to take on various roles each day and adapt to the evolving landscape without overcomplicating things?

The 9-5 choice and mandatory return to office:

There was a global uproar with return to office and lack of remote roles at the back end of 2023 to date. Empowerment (employers and employees) is where one is wise to choose and doesn’t have to explain basic choices as the above to anyone. If you are a parent or parent its the same - choice sits with the workers only. The output matters, and never how and where the job is done. Empower, trust and show that through each word and action from your heart dear people and leaders - MEAN IT don't just SAY IT.

If employees prefer a certain working style give it to them, don’t make them earn it because they will pay back later what you give them at first. If they misuse your trust, warn them and then take swift actions if it reoccurs. At onset say what you would do when you hire so they aware ahead. A cookie cut rule to any problem never worked and controlling fails drastically, so why even attempt? There are many companies who have respected the above and operate on fully remote models as future-fit. I respect and cherish them also hybrid at worker's choice.

Many feel demotivated with self-centred leadership at large and the lack of DEI at board levels. Diverse age and race, creates a well-fired up team creating more profit and purpose, while never compromising on sustainability as responsible future workers.

By consciously promoting an abundance mindset, we can make the corporate world a better place. I've encountered numerous aspiring for multiple streams of income, reflecting a diverse range of needs and aspirations. Let's honor everyone. If they grow you grow exponentially. Allow it to happen and watch the magic.

Conclusion

I believe in each of us choosing to be self-empowered by working with the best that helps everyone grow at the pace they individually choose. Rest falls in place.

I don't believe in any 'titled' leaders, given most of what we have seen in the past – it is not a place for all at least not for the above-average who want to excel by merit and smart work.

It's a win-win with selfless conscientious yet conscious people around you. I say conscientious because one must be very quick to remove troublemakers until they rewire themselves and rejoin the workforce with an abundance mindset. Everyone can but they don't know how. Each of us can show them the path perhaps?

May we build a future with integrity and stewardship. We WILL.

We are no longer the ‘still complaining’?or burnout generation. If you don’t the universe is ready to produce such cult or selfless leadership.

I believe the key is in asking the right proactive questions throughout the workers' journey in your organisation and embracing innovative approaches through diverse perspectives that will take you and everyone to the next success. Until then, tech or any AI will be second best. People first. The more each of us delay, hoping someone will magically fix it for us, it will be too late for the future corporate world.

Very good points and well set out article Jan Nallathamby ACMA, CGMA, MSc. Yes I agree positivity & abundance thinking are important for an organisation to move forward. Moving the organisation & people in the organisation is a project in itself.

Jan Nallathamby ACMA, CGMA, MSc Loved your thoughts. What I believe is Everything boils down to “Intentions” & “Approach” which actually defines Humans I believe Intentions has to be constructive. But In corporate culture, the intentions starts getting filtered & eventually become Destructive as the Rewards are high in terms of Power Wealth Fame etc.. And wherever the reward is very high,Politics starts happen which is very usual & most of the ppl involved in destructive politics. And these destructive ppl usually comes under B & C category talent & ends up being the best Slave or the followers. Now There’s A player who is always in Constructive mode even in destructive situations & therefore usually avoid B & C categories results in Self policing. So these A players ends up in Being the Greatest leader who believe & fulfils higher purpose & build something great which serves humanity at larger scale & it is mostly selfless. I also observed that Everything is so much designed that we cannot even think it’s infinite possibilities. Everything has purpose & it reveals at the Divine Timing. Sharing this video of Steve to understand more.
