Is AI the 4th Industrial Revolution? It seems to be ranking right up there with Henry Ford and his assembly line, the advent of the internet, and the first Iphone! The suspected spending on this type of technology over the next 10 years or so is probably going to hit the trillion dollar mark, so yeah, this isn’t just a blip. (3 minute read)

In health news, the very first fully AI generated drug is headed to human trials soon. This first drug is for a chronic lung disease and they have two others in the works. One is for treatment of Covid and the second is a solid tumor inhibitor. The field of medicine will be one to watch in terms of how generative AI is going to be able to assist in research and treatment. (3 minute read)

Melinda Gates hopes that more women will get involved in AI. There is the inherent issue with biases that are, for lack of a better word, baked into the training data for AI models. More women in this industry making the decisions when these models are deployed will hopefully alleviate that. (3 minute read)

Video game distributor, Steam, is pumping the brakes on AI generated creative content for games in their marketplace. Although they have yet to make an official statement there are games that have been rejected due to the use of AI generated content, specifically due to the lack of ownership of the intellectual property rights for the data used to train the models that created the art.?
