How to change their perceptions about you?


In my online master classes,?sometimes I hear this frustration from professionals.?


Many have established their path after a few years into their careers.


And then, their progression plateaus.?They may be passed for deserved promotions.


Most times, the problem is not in their qualifications.


It is in the minds of people around them. In the way they perceive their profile.


When people develop in their minds a profile about you that does not help you….


…you need to re-educate people on how to think about you


It is a problem of "perception". What we marketers call a "Positioning" problem.


To "re-position" your profile in people' s minds these steps are necessary



1.- RE-LEARN YOUR TARGET'S MINDSET?


People make decisions based on emotion dressed in objectivity and facts.?


It is your job to know what matter to them as they decide.?



2.- STATE YOUR?"NEW PROMISE"??


Show how your profile helps them get closer to what they want.


Open their curiosity with a simple 6-word statement. (Warning: it takes weeks to craft it well.?

If you rush it…it will not work.)?


Align all your actions and interactions to this promise?



3.- MAKE YOUR PASSION VISIBLE THROUGH ACTIONS


This is what we marketers call "Purpose" -?


Actions, not words make it visible.




Write all this in a one pager document. Use it.?Find a good template to do this.?(feel free to ask me where)



With consistency,?perceptions will change in your favour.?Opportunities will follow.
