Are you proud?

This year, more than ever, we need to celebrate Pride! June is Pride Month, a month to celebrate LGBTQ+ members of our communities. Above all, it is a month to celebrate solidarity and inclusion.

I am an Associate Vice-President, responsible for Infosys Organization Change Management Practice in France. With my team, we support clients in their transformation journey. Hence Change Management and Transformation are both part of my daily activities...

When I reflect on Pride, I have the feeling that the inclusion of the LGBTQ+ community still needs strong Change Management.

Let's stop for a minute and reflect. What does Pride mean to you? Pride to me means accepting who you are and feeling proud of what makes you unique. It also means dignity and equal rights for all. Let’s shine and be proud of our individuality.

I think we are all different in our own unique ways. I would like people to consider that. Also, I strongly believe that people can only be their personal best when they can be themselves. Imagine being discriminated against just because of who you are. It sounds crazy but yet it happens all the time.

Did you know that discrimination still affects LGBTQ+ people beyond the workplace, sometimes costing them their homes or access to education?

Being an Ally means simply stating that we believe in equality and freedom for all. At Infosys, as an Ally, I am approachable and trustworthy, I can help my colleagues feel safe and included. I value everyone’s differences and I thank all the other allies too: sometimes we need the courage to take risks and accept some unpopular views to stand for what we truly believe in.

Here are some steps to become an Ally:

  • Listen
  • Learn
  • Speak Up
  • Educate others
  • Welcome discomfort
  • Stay engaged

This is me standing for what I believe in! I would love all of my colleagues to become Allies.

Stop. Think. Respect.

Thank you, Emmanuelle. I honestly struggle to believe employees can be promoted and rewarded based on anything else other than the input and output of their work. As a society we have a long way to go.. and it does make me proud that I do not know such cases in our company but i agree that we have to always listen, learn and stay engaged to make sure this never changes...
