Are you a professional speaker? Maximize Linkedin Audio Events to boost your voice.

A quick search of 'speaker' on LinkedIn led to 1,280.000 people results. The results for 'motivational speaker' was 142,000 and there was 90,000 for 'keynote speaker.' Needless to say, there are a lot of LinkedIn members who earn their living as speakers. Are you one of them? If so, the platforms new Audio Events feature should be on your to-do list.

LinkedIn Audio Events was released in beta form in early January 2022. Although only a small percentage of LinkedIn members can create the audio events, all LinkedIn members can attend them. All members can also find value in the feature. But speakers easily gravitate to microphones. Maximizing this feature can help them keep their speaking skills sharp, expand their exposure and potentially generate speaking opportunities.

Here's a few tips to help speakers make the post out of LinkedIn Audio Events:

• If you are not a beta tester, attend as many events as you can to familiarize yourself with how the feature works. Pay attention to how the hosts structure and manage their events.

• Don't just attend LinkedIn Audio Events during the beta phase, raise your hand and get on stages. Doing so will allow you more experience with how the feature works, network with the event hosts and gain credibility amongst the other attendees.

• In the meantime of you getting access to creating your own LinkedIn Audio Events, start strategically planning yours. What will you talk about? What will the name of your event(s) be? What day of the week and time will you have your event(s)? How frequently will you have your event(s)? Planning your event(s) in advance will help you be relaxed during your debut event and lead to your overall success.

• Create a template for your event cover image. The dimensions can be tricky. It requires a 16:9 ratio, or 1080 x 1080. Look at the cover images for the beta tester events to get inspiration. Draft a custom cover image using PosterMyWall (my preferred design platform). Being able to have it on standby will save you time and frustration when you are ready to create your first audio event.

The use of Audio Events give speakers on LinkedIn a stage that can include audience members from around the globe. Speaking to them brings your profile to life in a way that text post can't. It also goes beyond what occurs with native videos and even Live videos on the platform. In addition to hearing you, the attendees are able to join you on stage and talk with you. The real-time conversations accelerate the 'know, like and trust' factor.

LinkedIn will be slowly rolling out the feature to other members in the spring. In the meantime, but sure you have Creator Mode turned on in your profile. I hope the tips I provided will help you be ready to Shine with your audio events.
