Are You Prepared For These Cybersecurity Threats?
With the prevalence of cyber threats, many companies are inclining towards technology solutions to protect their data and systems from cyber-attacks. But when the technology industry itself is confronting the risks of cyber-attacks, then?
Frankly speaking, a cyber-attack is something that always keeps haunting me. I'm sure every entrepreneur in the technology industry has the same experience.
Common Threats to the Technology Industry
Data breaches, Advanced Persistent Threats, or APTs, social engineering fraud, including phishing attacks, are our primary concerns. RiskBased recorded 4.1 million data breaches only in the 1st half of 2019. Verizon's report revealed that 52% of breaches featured hacking while 28% of cases were related to Malware, and 32-33% involved phishing and social engineering.
I have observed that most technology companies face cyber-attacks due to several security loopholes and negligence of updating software or patch systems.
Solutions?
If you ask me how my company is dealing with these threats, my answer will be simple. We keep monitoring our systems and the integrity of their security posture. We have adopted a specific framework approach to ensure #cybersecurity. We are also open to innovations. I want to provide you with a suggestion. Make sure all your technology products and software are developed with security built-in. This concept is popularly known as #DevSecOps.
