Joe Danaher, CMMC-RP, CISM, CRISC answers questions and steps you through what it means to your security program and budget to achieve CMMC Level 3: Good Cyber Hygiene.
Learn about the Department of Defense (DoD) security initiative and clarify how the bar is being raised on cybersecurity for over 330,000 DoD subcontractors.
The changes were necessary for the protection of America's defense intelligence, but many companies aren't prepared for certification. The foundation of CMMC is familiar – NIST 800-171 – but there are very important differences.
CUI is Key to determining the level you must obtain. Some subcontractors do not handle Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) within their network, so Level 1 is their target. Level 1 may not be as basic as it sounds. It includes Multifactor authentication (MFA), Firewall with intrusion prevention and detection (IPS/IDS), Secure destruction of all forms of data, Patching, and Endpoint Detection and Response.
If you do handle CUI on your network or in your email, you must meet Level 3. We will talk about what it means to manage your security and look at new costs that may exist beyond your NIST 800-171 compliance.
Let's get you prepared. Watch on-demand, CMMC Level 3 - prep your security program and budget.
